• Acrostic- A poem that spells a word vertically and then uses each beginning letter as a start for that line in the poem.The poem then describes the word that goes down.

Limerick• 5 lines with an AABBA rhyme pattern.
Lines 1,2, and 5 are longer than 3 and 4. It’s usually about a person and funny.

Haiku
• 3 line poem with no rhyme scheme. Lines 1 and 3 have 5 syllables and Line 2 has 7 syllables. It is usually about nature.
