Surface grinder

• Reciprocating table

• Rotary table

Tool & cutter grinder

• Universal

• Special

Plain cylindrical grinder

• Various motion required to grinding

• The machine is similar to center lathe.

• The work piece held between head

stock & tail stock.

• Disc type grinding wheel perform

grinding operation.

• Transvers

grinding

• Plunge grinding

Center-less grinder

• Center less grinding is the

method when the work-piece is

supported by a blade instead

of by center or chuck.

• Two wheel used : larger wheel

for grinding smaller wheel for

regulate the axial movement

of the work-piece.

Internal grinder machine

These are used to finish straight ,

tapered or formed holes to correct

size, shape and finish.

• Chucking grinder

• Planetary grinders

• Center-less grinder

Chucking grinder • In this grinding process the

work piece is chucked and

rotate about its own axis to

bring all parts of the bore or

other surface to the ground in

contact with grinding wheel.

• Chucking grinders are best

applied whenever the work

itself can be conveniently

chucked and rotated.

Center-less internal grinder

• In internal centerless grinding the

work is supported by three rolls.

• One is the regulating roll, and the

other is a pressure roll to hold the

work-piece firmly against the support

and regulating rolls.

• The grinding wheel contacts the inside

diameter of the work piece.
