Pop Artists.

Conventions of Pop videos. In a pop video the conventions that are mostly used would be that the actors are

telling us a story about relationships whether it be friendships or boyfriends/girlfriends. The videos are shot in a variety of locations mostly beaches, holidays or parties with a lots of people around.

Another convention would be that a pop video mostly contains a dance performance or some type of dance. Majority of pop videos contain bright lighting and when it comes to the camera movements there is always zoom in and out, close-ups, tracking shot and shots of high and low angles. The artist who is performing always has eye matching level towards the camera as if they are talking to the audience personally.

When it comes to the target audience of pop would be teenagers between the ages of 14-22 years and the majority of them would be females the reason for this would be because the majority of pop artists are female so the target audience can relate to the songs and story in the video better then males could.

Classical Artists.

Conventions of Classical. In a classical performance there is always one main light and the setting of the

stage or platforms is always empty exact they always have some sort of band or chorus on stage with the artist. When it comes to the lyrics of a classical singers guaranteed the song is always about an experience the artist has had in his/her life.

Another convention would be that when performing classical the artist always looks smart and serious never dress seductively whereas in R&B and occasionally pop genres they do. When there is a classical video it is very elegant and pure and the shots that are mostly used would be close-ups and zoom in and out. A classical music video portrays emotions mostly though the mise on scene and lighting of the video.

The target audience for classical music would be a older generation than pop at the age of 33-45 years this would be the biggest target audience for classical music. This parasitic music genre only receive a niche amount of people as it isn't the most popular of genres to follow.

R & B Artists.

The genre of R & B there would be conventions containing mostly bling, gold and flashy things beginning portrayed whether it is girls being portrayed in a seductive way and big diamond, flashy cars, baggy clothes and jewellery everywhere. When it comes to the lyrics of a R&B the artist is always arguing or having an disagreement whether its over there career or girls.

The shots that are mostly used would be extreme close-ups to show of what they have zooms in and out, long shot emphasizing what they have got or how much money they have. Most of the locations would be Mansions, holiday homes or big events. R&B is all about showing off what they have and all about there glamourize lifestyles.

The target audience for this type genre would mostly be teenagers being males as they relate to this genre better then other genres being pop. However females are a target audience for this genre as female artist in R&B sing about love and heartbreak and this what teenagers girls can relate too but the majority of them are males between the ages of 16-25 so teenagers and young adults. I think this is because males can relate to the lyrics of the song or the video as it is normally performed by a male artists.
