3rd Generation Computers

The main points we will make in this presentation is how our computer were in the past. The 3rd generation of computers was from 1964 to 1971.

Integrated Circuit

In 1959 a man named Jack Kilby who lived in Texas invented an integrated circuit. This is the start of the 3rd generation of computers. The integrated circuit knows when you press a key on the keyboard or move the mouse. This information is from http://history.sandiego.edu/GEN/recording/computer1.html

Operating System

The operating system is said to be the most important part of the computer. It keeps track of files, sends pictures to your monitor, controls printers and other equipment, and much more. This information is from http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/o/operating_system.html

Semiconductors

A Semiconductor is found in the heart of a microprocessor or chip. Anything that uses radio waves has a semiconductor in it. From http://www.howstuffworks.com/diode.htm

Apple

The Apple Company makes most computers and IPods. Steven Jobs and Steven Wozniak where the people who made Apple in 1976. In 1977 another one formed. http://www.apple.com/

How did the third generation help us advance? The third generation

of computers helped us advance to this generation by finding out how to improve all of the computer parts to make the computer run faster and able to do more abilities. From

Top Three most Important

Apple- Without that company we wouldn't have any music to listen to. Salute!

Semiconductors- In side of the microprocessor, or the IPod, helps the microprocessor work correctly. Without this the IPod wouldn’t work.

Operating System- Without these the computer would be worthless. The keyboard, sound, and everything wouldn't work.
