Values“You were created to love and be loved. You were meant to live life in

relationship with other people, to know and be known. You need to know that your story is important and that you're part of a bigger

story. You need to know that your life matters.”

• Beyond treatment, we believe that community is essential, that people need other people, that we were never meant to do life alone.

• The vision is people putting down guns and blades and bottles.• The vision is that we can reduce the suicide rate in America and

around the world.• The vision is that we would learn what it means to love our

friends, and that we would love ourselves enough to get the help we need. better endings.  The vision is the restoration of broken families and broken relationships. people finding life, finding freedom, finding love.  The vision is graduation, a Super Bowl, a wedding, a child, a sunrise.  The vision is people becoming incredible parents, people breaking cycles, making change.

• The vision is hope, and hope is real.

Personal Connection• My interest in TWLOHA

sparked when I noticed people wearing t-shirts that had TWLOHA on them. Not knowing the history behind the meaning of TWLOHA, I

began to ask my friends about it. After learning the secret

behind TWLOHA, my passion for greater understanding

behind teenage depression had grown deeper, knowing that even my closest friends

had self esteem problems and were also hurting themselves emotionally and physically. I knew that as their friend it

was my job to show them how much they are loved and

cared for.

Need in the Community

• MOVE is our way of equipping and educating communities about the topics we address at To Write Love on Her Arms: depression, addiction, self-injury, suicide, and the role a trusted community plays in bringing hope to those who feel broken.

MOVE is for people who are looking for a way to engage others in conversations about topics we believe matter very much. This conference stems from the idea that uniting our resources helps take people from places of pain to places of hope and healing. MOVE is for students, mentors, parents, friends, pastors, professionals, and for everyone in-between. It is for someone new to these topics entirely or someone who has worked in a clinical setting for years. This two-day, in-depth, engaging workshop is an effort to begin a conversation about issues often left in the dark. Our aim is to battle stigma and shame with honesty and compassion.

•In a discussion led by professional counselors, we explore what is behind these struggles, what drives them, what recovery looks like, and how we can make a difference. Each of us has a different story, and every MOVE conference is a place where we learn from licensed professionals and from each other. Our hope is that you leave encouraged, inspired, and informed.
