1 TerminateThis card is an auto-swap

in the R/B Blightning deck for Incinerate and is a great upgrade to Terror for destroying opposing Demigodsopposing Demigods

Maelstrom PulseThis card was a tough call at number one over Terminate.Considering both cards are very powerful, but with the 5-Color and Planeswalkers deck coming on strong latetly we felt this card might make the cut in more decks, and has the edge against those pesky token decks, that will be infecting your local Regionals!

3AnthamancerIf something is going to change constructed play, who would have thought it would be an uncommon? This card should shake the format considering most decks play a minimum of 12 non-basics in there deck making Anathemancer eager to get to work at Regionals!

4 Bloodbraid Elf This card is the only cascade card on our list. Time will tell if this mechanic will be dominant in the future of type two magic. of type two magic.

5 Qasali Pridemage

This card will make it into most sideboardsbecause of its effiecient cost and swinging

ability. But it may not be strong enough to make the main deck of most zoo type decks.

Page 5: Twinfu Magazine - Issue 2 - May 2009

Meddling MageThis card once dominated extended magic and it is back again when blue white is ice cold in the format. Lets see if a Bant or Reveillark deck can adopt this powerful mage.

Thought HemorrhageSo a black red Cranial Extraction with the added bonus of pinging the oppoent for three if they happen to be holding the card you name. It could see play in the sideboards of not only Black Red Blightning but one could argue it as a great addition to 5-color controls quiver of great spells.

9 Soul ManipulationMultifunctional countermagic is countermagic is never a bad thing, just ask Cryptic Command.

Spellbreaker Behemoth May not even be needed in the current format considering

counter spells seem to counter spells seem to be at an all-time low.

But maybe it will be the cornerstone of a new style stompy deck.

7Sen’s TripletsThis is the one card in the set that is asking for control

deck to be built around it. This card has a broken ability and it will be huge for constructed play.

Into the Crystal Ball THIS ISN’T THE LAST SHAKE UP! Epic has been through its first eruption since the arrival of the game. With constructed season coming ever so close the people of Epic have been screaming bloody murder over two changes in the gift list and the arrival of the new Prize cards to the format. The ironic thing is based on many people on the net, they felt that some of the changes were severe enough in getting the really dominant cards in the format but maybe things will change!

Latest Prize Cards in Latest Prize Cards in the coming to the format:

FUTURE FORECAST - Thought-Stealer and Food for Thought becomes Gift Cards and The Nullifier becomes the number one most playable card that nobody can get a hold of.

THE GIFT LIST IS STHE GIFT LIST IS SCARY! First, Compromise the second most powerful card as ranked by Twinfu last month in their top 20 constructed cards of Epic TCG has been banished to the gift list. Then they knocked out Anything But that the clever Counterspell that has become an Instantaneous Ambush for your spells, and Wikkan Sidekick for anyone else who cared. The question is how does this affect me, well first off, most of the major archetypes are currently playing 9 gift cards already and making this a part of the list changes everything so cuts will have to made to accommodate to get truly ready get truly ready for constructed season. But what this does do is makes the Necropolis a true front runner deck consid-ering it was gift light only running Thought-Stealer to combo up its gift components.

FUTURE FORECAST - after realizing that that Compromise and Anything But That were converted for a reason, the bad players out there begin playing those cards and competitive Epic becomes more viable. Hence no more bad Decklists!

Punch-OUt!! - May 19thThis will be the first time I will be envious of those youngsters who own a Wii over my beloved PS3. I mean Punch-Out, with Little Mac tying on the gloves again and getting in the ring with favorites like King Hippo, King Hippo, Von Kaiser, and the immortal Glass Joe. There are 13 boxers with a few all new characters, this will be a huge hit for Wii.

Chronicles of Riddick:Assault on Dark Athena - May 5thWith Xbox 360 getting a whole extra month had start on this game the reviews are already in that this game should be truly already in that this game should be truly amazing. With enhanced gameplay from the original game Riddick 2 should be a must have on the PS3.

Bionic Commando - May 19thThis originally was a capcom gem back on the NES system, finally getting it’s redux with an all new framing with the same old with an all new framing with the same old story of Nathan Spencer helping protect the world against a futuristic nazi clan that is hellbent on taking over the world with their own version of Adolf. Yikes lets see if our hero has what it takes to save us all!

May 1st: X-Men Origins, Ghost of Girlfriends PastWhat’s the Biggest: X-Men OriginsWhat’s the Best: X-Men Orgins

WWolverine is the first of the large box office tentpoles of spring this movie should completely thrash the box office that weekend getting close to clearing 100 million even with the leaks online. It also looks like Ghost of Girlfriends Past drew the short end of the stick being stuck in between two monsters in the cinema, it probably won’t do much, unless your one of those people who don’t like Action and Sci-Fi movies.

May 15: Angels & DemonsWhat’s the Biggest: Angels & DemonsWhat’s the Best: Angels & Demons

Ironically, Angels & Demons comes out with no actual competition that week. So of course it will gain the box office draw during it’srelease. Also considering the original movie did so well and people release. Also considering the original movie did so well and people might be tired of action movies by then it might pull a new and unique audience to give it some lasting power.

May 8th: Star Trek, Next Day AirWhat’s the Biggest: Star TrekWhat’s the Best: Star Trek

WWith early reports coming from many websites that Star Trek is actually a great overall movie instead of just another refill for the trekkie fans out there, it may boad well for pulling top rung for the box office during opening week.

It will really depend on how good It will really depend on how good Wolverine is to determine if Star Trek will have legs. I assume the movie will clear at least 50 million opening weekend if Wolverine pulls somewhere around 100 million during it’s premiere release. Next Day Air will not do anything to disrupt either movie.

May 29th: Pixar’s UP, Drag Me to HellWhat’s the Biggest: UPWhat’s the Best: Up

This is another big weekend the first Pixar movie to bereleased this year and automatically assume that they will easily be able to win at the box office despite greatnumbers from numbers from Terminator and Night at the Museum 2.

The other big thing to consider about that weekend is the wild-card Drag Me To Hell by Sam Raimi (Spiderman) fame. He actually has an original background in the horror genreand might surprise you with a pretty decent weekend.

May 22: Terminator Salvation, Night at the Museum 2What’s the Biggest: Night at the Museum 2What’s the Best: Terminator Salvation

In the week of box oIn the week of box office sequels making their way to the cinema a clear cut winner will be tough to determine. Overall May has been chocked full of Action, Adventure and Sci-fi but has been light in the kid film department. So assume Terminator Salvation will be rated R, Night of the Museum should be the money champ during release weekend.

As for movie qualitAs for movie quality, the new darker undertones of T4 making it appear as they will have the goods in making the better overall movie of the weekend.
