Television has become a major kind of entertainment all over the world. It provides people with such interesting programs as films, music and game shows. However, many people, especially children, are addicted to watching TV, which results in bad effects on their health, schoolwork and behaviors.

First, watching TV too much causes health problems to children. According to Kaiser Family Foundation, children who consistently spend more than 4 hours per day watching TV are more likely to be overweight. The reason for this is that children do not have any physical activities during this time. Watching TV seems to also increase snacking leading to increase energy consumption. Unfortunately, most snacks eaten in front of the TV are fatty, sugary and salty, which brings about health problems.

Second, too much TV also influences childrens schoolwork. Among those who watch between four and seven hours per week, only 24 percent have excellent school performance. TV viewing may replace activities that are useful for school performance, such as reading, doing homework. Indeed, the more children watch TV., the worse they study.

Finally, daily television viewing for two or more hours in early childhood can lead to behavioral problems. The effects of TV violence may make children become "immune" to the horror of violence and accept violence as a way to solve problems. Children with emotional or impulse control problems may be more easily influenced by TV violence.

In conclusion, children who watch TV too much may have to face some troubles above. Therefore, parents should control their kids to help them watch TV in a logical way.
