– Online diary that allows the author to easily publish on the www,

– Combines text, graphics, sounds, videos and links, – Posts are displayed in reverse-chronological order

allowing the most current information to be prominently displayed.

3 Types of Educational Blogs

A Tutor Blog helps the student because it:

• is an appropriate place to house all documents that the student will need to be successful,

• is a useful tool as the student always knows what the assignment is and can refer to the blog outside the classroom to finish tasks and reinforce learning,

• can include the learning objective,• is a communication tool for parents to use to help them

keep abreast of what their children are studying,• serves as a constant reminder of deadlines and other

important information.

A Tutor Blogs helps the teacher because it:

• obliges the teacher to focus on daily lesson planning,

• provides a record of course development and the teacher’s professional development,

• promotes parental participation.

Remember:• a blog is a web tool that makes publishing to

the www a snap,• a blog helps both the student and the teacher,AND• a blog is easy to create and use.
