Van Dorn water sampler

General:The horizontal Van Dorn water sampler is intended for taking water samples near the bottom in lakes, streams, or in stratified water bodies. The water sampler is based on the Van Dorn design.

The sampler is made of a sturdy transparent acrylic tube and has a double releaser, activated by a drop messenger. The release system is manufactured from AISI 316 stainless steel.

Thermometer:The water sampler comes with a standard, non-Mercury thermometer, with a temperature range between - 10 and + 60 degrees oC (1 degree indications on the scale).When the 2 rubber end covers are released, they are held together by a rubber strap.

NEW:All Van Dorn models have been re-designed for better performance and now the steering fins are integrated into the sampler, ensuring a better stabilization in flowing water.Available sizes:The water sampler comes in 3 sizes, 2 - 3 or 5 litres. All samplers are equipped with integrated direction fins for stabilization in flowing water.

Small Plankton Net Ø25 cm

The upper cylindrical net is made of strong Beaver Nylon with a diameter of Ø25 cm and a length of 15 cm. The conical net bag is made of Monodur Nytal (Nylon) and it is 40 cm deep. The bag is available in all mesh sizes.

The plankton sample can be gathered by dismounting a chromium plated, brass sample cylinder from the PVC ring located at the bottom of the net. Content 35 ml. The sample can be removed through a valve at the bottom of the sample cylinder.

Optional:Sample cylinder made of PVC, 5 windows covered by stainless steel net, mesh size according to the plankton net, minimum size 20 µ. Content 80 ml. Ordering no. 23.004

Ruttner Water Sampler

Application:

The KC Water sampler is based on the Ruttner design. The KC Water sampler is suitable for taking samples in lakes, water borings, wells, etc.

Thermometer:Internal thermometer (non-Mercury) for registration of the in situ temperature. Temperature range between -10 and +60 °C. For and 1,7 L Ruttner the thermometer is scaled 0 - 50 °C

Niskin Water Sampler 1.7 to 12 litre

Niskin Water Sampler:The water sampler is fully made of PVC and its interior is totally free from metal parts. Top- and bottom plates are held together with a sea water resistant rubber string, and a drop messenger releases the closing mechanism.

The KC water sampler can be used singly (by use of 1 pc 60.002 Centre hanger for single ocean water sampler) or in series and closes correspondingly. The Niskin water bottles are also available in a special version, (61.xxx series) which can only be used with our Rosette and Racks system.

Drop messengers:Standard delivery for Niskin water bottles is a 400 g drop messenger. If you want to use a centre hanger you must use an 800 g drop messenger, model 60.004.

KC triangular dredge

The KC BIOLOGICAL DREDGE is made of heavy duty AISI 316 stainless steel. The triangular frame is furnished with a row of teeth guiding plants and algae into the bottom of the net.

A coarse meshed 2 cm Nylon net of 100 cm length for collecting biological and/or mineralogical samples is mounted on the frame.

A fine meshed net can on request be mounted inside the coarse net for collection of zooplankton.

The dredge is held in position by steering arms welded to each corner.

The dredge can be used without the rubber plate. When using the rubber plate it is necessary to use some kind of buoyancy to ensure the correct position of the dredge.

Rubber plate:

When using the rubber plate it is necessary to have a buoyancy or similar to ensure the correct position of the dredge.

General:The Van Veen grab is based on the Van Veen design. The Van Veen grab is made of AISI 316 stainless steel and the surface is electro polished. The grab itself is manufactured from 3 mm plate (250 cm²), 4 mm for 1000 cm² and 8 mm for a 2000 or 2500 cm².

Sizes:There are 4 sizes of Van Veen:12.110 - 250 cm², (0,025 m²) - 3,14 liters.12.210 - 1000 cm², (0,1 m²) - 15 liters.12.310 - 2000 cm², (0,2 m²) - 50 liters.12.410 - 2500 cm², (0,25 m²) - 82 liters.

Lids:The small models are delivered with 4 lids the 12.310 model Van Veen grab 2000cm² has 2 lids available. Haps Core

Application:The KC HAPS Bottom corer is highly suitable for taking well defined, undisturbed samples from hard as well as soft sediments. This can be seen by a clear water phase above the sediment surface.

Materials:The HAPS is manufactured from AISI 316 stainless steel with electro polished surface. The sample tube is made of stainless steel (standard) but it can be delivered in transparent polycarbonate as well. In order to stabilize the HAPS in sea swells, and to sample in sandy sediments, weights can be mounted.

A complete system consist of the following:

Close up of the 50.000 Haps corer release knob system, made for quick change of the sample tubes. Once the knob is pulled back, you can take out the sample tube, and upon release the spring system on the knob will move back, securing the sample tube from falling out during deployment.

59.000 Vibrator for Haps:The 59.000 vibrator unit is used for the 50.000 Haps model for taking samples in very hard sediment, the vibrator unit is mounted on the top of the haps, and by vibration it's able to help the core penetrating the sediment, that normal haps core with fully mounted weights on it can not. The maximum opration depth for the 59.000 Vibrator model is 60 m.

50.500 Non-return flap:The 50.500 KC non-return flap is made of AISI 316 stainless steel, with rubber seal, The non-return flap is used as the top lid of the sample, during deployment it will secure the vacuum inside the sample, preserving the sample as the haps core is extracted from the seabed floor.
