TenarisConfab Since its foundation in 1943, TenarisConfab has pursued constant innovation and improvement, ensuring its prominence among Brazilian companies with a global projection. TenarisConfab, a subsidiary of Tenaris, is the leading producer and supplier of welded pipes to the Brazilian energy industry, and a leading exporter of these products to Mercosur and Latin America. Its manufacturing facilities are located in Pindamonhangaba, SP, and have an annual production capacity of 550,000 tons of welded pipes. The facility also has two coating plants and modern laboratories equipped to carry out non-destructive, mechanical and chemical tests. For welded pipe production, Tenaris can also count on TenarisSiat, located in Argentina. With an annual production capacity of 430,000 tons, the company manufactures pipes from 1/2 to 80 inches, complementing TenarisConfab capacity when necessary. TenarisConfab products are used in the oil, petrochemical, gas, mining, water and sewage, civil construction industries, among others. TenarisConfab has grown based on active participation in both the domestic and international industry, with involvement in projects such as Camisea (Peru), OCP (Equador), Na Kika (Mexican Gulf), PDET and PDEG (Petrobras offshore projects), the Campinas-Rio and Catu-Carmópolis-Pilar (also Petrobras) gas pipelines, and the Paragominas mineral pipeline belonging to the Vale (Brazil).

TenarisConfab is prepared to undertake all types of logistics operations regardless of the degree of complexity, ensuring just-in-time delivery of products irrespective of the customer’s location.

These operations may include different modes of transportation – road, rail, maritime, river and air – including port operations, customs clearance and any other requirements. The company is also experienced in pipe stocking, receipt, unloading, inspection, repair, stacking and movement operations.

Health, Safety and Environment In line with Tenaris policy, the company performs its activities with complete respect for the environment, as well as for the safety and health of employees, suppliers and the communities in which it is present. This commitment drives the company to continually refine its integrated Management System for the Health, Safety and Environment, which is applied both in the company’s plants and on work sites established on customers’ premises. The Tenaris Safety Environment program is responsible for ensuring workplace safety and environment compliance, logging all accidents, incidents and safety problems and ensuring the implementation of preventive and corrective action.

Social Development

Staying Off the Streets Project Around 2 thousand children and teenagers dedicate their free time to the practice of educational and cultural activities. Besides having street dancing classes, aerobic gymnastics, capoeira, indoor and outdoor soccer, they participate in back up classes for their formal education.

The “Anália Franco” Space More than 400 needy children and teenagers participated in the project with activities designed to develop their basic skills and self-esteem. The space has as its mission to transmit to the participants values and attitudes compatible to the principles of ethics and citizenship.

Supporting APAEThe entity APAE (Association of Parents and Friends of Disabled Induviduals) has been supported by Confab in its main projects. One example is the recently completed multi-sports Gymnasium – the only one in Vale do Paraíba region specifically designed for the disabled.

Assisting the ElderlyConfab maintains its support for the two homes for elderly in Pindamonhangaba, which allows them to offer the elderly the best quality of life with leisure and special care.

“Helping those who help themselves”. This phrase is Tenaris’ logo in relation to its Social Development policy, defined within the proposal of promoting economic, social and environmental sustainability.

Growing with the Community The focus is on projects in the areas of education, health and environment - which are fundamental for the improvement in the quality of life in the communities surrounding our factories around the world. The projects sponsored by Confab benefit hundreds of people, among children, youngsters and the elderly.

Pinda in Bloom Project Confab has extended its participation in the community by offering a partnership with the Pindamonhangaba City Hall to make the Pinda in Bloom Project possible. The objective of this initiative is to increase the scientific knowledge of the diversity of the Parque Municipal do Trabijú and to incentivize environmental education.

Pinda Race With Confab’s support, the Pinda Race is one of the biggest events in the region, gathering over 6 thousand people. It is one of the official activites held in celebration of the city’s anniversary.

Excellence in Studies Award With this initiative, Confab stimulates, brings out and awards students who have shown excellent performance at high school in state, technical and private schools in Pindamonhangaba.
