Hapara and Student Digital PortfoliosJust a friendly reminder that even though the Hapara Parent Portal is no longer active, families can still view andaccess their child’s Digital Portfolio and Learning Samples by logging into their child’s school Google Accountand clicking on Google Drive and the associated folders of work. Student login details and passwords were allemailed to families during Remote Learning last year and again during the snap lock down in February. Iencourage you to make the time regularly to view the work that has been uploaded to your child’s folder. Thiswill all be complete by the end of the Semester to accompany the report. Catholic Education Week - 21st - 28th MayThis year’s theme for Catholic Education Week, “Faith in the future - I have come that they may have life andhave it to the full,” is a combination of a quote from John’s Gospel and the theme for the bicentennialcelebrations of Catholic education in Australia. Catholic Education Week is an opportunity for all members of aschool community to consider the call of the Gospel to build the Kingdom of God here and now. This year’stheme serves as an invitation to focus on the unconditional love of God and how this love is demonstratedthroughout our lives, in our academic and spiritual pursuits. More information regarding Catholic EducationWeek will be communicated through Mr Sharp’s section of the newsletter over the coming weeks.

Building Works UpdateAfter a number of small setbacks with Melbourne Water and the council, we now have the green light to proceedwith plans for the development of the new Library and Art Room. We are currently going through the tendersand will hopefully have some more exciting news soon.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATIONDear Families,

Three School Parish Mass: Saturday May 22 at 6pm.We warmly invite families to attend this special Mass, as we launch Catholic Education Week. You will need toregister for the Mass through the Parish website. Bookings will open next week and we will provide a link innext week’s newsletter.

LoveIt is a central teaching in the Catholic Church. Yet, can be so over stated and under used. The word is easyenough. You can love a burger. Love a jacket.

But when Jesus said, love one another as I have loved you, this placed the challenge on each and everyoneof us.

At School, like life, students meet people they do not necessarily connect with. They meet people who see theworld in a different way. The challenge, not only for Catholics following Jesus' teaching, but for all people is toshow love to those we do not agree with or even respect.

To our students, this is often an incredibly different message to the one they come to know. For adults, it is alesson that is incredibly difficult to observe daily. The reality can be that we learn to love, and learn to oppose.

Jesus challenges us to a different way of thinking. We are not asked to agree with everyone, not even to bebest friends. We all know that some people in our lives are those that do not allow us to be the best version ofourselves. Yet at school each day, I see this love Jesus taught. Where the students check on someone who islonely. Where they are quick to forgive. Where they cheer on the person in last place. Where they seeexcitement in the plainest thing.

Of course, I see examples of the opposite. I have done the opposite.

Yet, what a great lesson to learn. To love one another, to show compassion, empathy and kindness to thosewho may not entirely deserve it of us.

This reading is placed just before Jesus' ascension as a nice reminder, a parting gift. Now it is up to uswhether we want to accept the challenge.

Father Brendan Visits 3P3P met with Fr Brendan for a prayer service and also to ask him some deep questions. This will continuethroughout the year where the students can engage with our priests about some of the deeper questions theyhave.

Trinity Feast DayWe will celebrate Trinity Feast day, along with Catholic Education week on the 22nd of May. We look forwardto showing you ‘How we live life to the full at Trinity’ which will be the theme of our school mass. We willprepare a reflective video so all can engage in this special occasion.
