CapabilitiesTrelleborg Marine Systems Offshore Integrated Mooring
Bow Mooring
Trelleborg Marine Systems can supply a complete solution for bow mooring. We’ve been the world leading supplier of quick release hawser hooks for bow mooring for the last 20 years. The hawser hook is one of the most critical components of the mooring equipment and is integrated with local and CCr load monitoring and remote release control for improved safety.
Ship to Ship Mooring
Trelleborg Marine Systems designs, manufactures and commissions complete fLng and fSru ship-to-ship mooring solutions: the typical system configuration includes multiple Quick release Hooks and capstans with load monitoring and remote release. Enhancements to the mooring system can include the integration of gPS Berthing, Environmental Monitoring, fenders and deployment Systems.
Spread Mooring
Trelleborg Marine Systems designs and manufactures a range of mooring systems for offshore oil and gas fPSO, fSO and small scale fLng facilities. The mooring system will usually include multiple chain stoppers, positioned in the bow and stern quarters of the vessel, together with fairleads and chain tensioning facilities. Other enhancements can include integrated load monitoring and high load warning systems with central monitoring.
Offloading Solutions
Trelleborg Marine Systems is a one-stop-shop for offloading solutions: our team’s capabilities ensure the quality and the in-time delivery of the offloading system, including the offloading hose and reel. The hose reels are designed and manufactured in compliance with IMO and OCIMf guidelines and classification society rules and in collaboration with Trelleborg Industries SAS Oil & Marine Hoses division.
Tandem Mooring
Trelleborg Marine Systems designs and supplies complete tandem mooring systems. The hawser hook is the most critical component of tandem mooring and is always integrated with local and cargo control room load monitoring display and remote release, to enhance the safety of the mooring. Based on our extensive mooring experience, a number of hawser storage reel system designs are available to suit each tandem mooring project.

This fSru Lng terminal required Trelleborg Marine Systems’ equipment for both the jetty and the fSru. Trelleborg worked with the dubai Supply Authority to supply double, triple and quadruple Quick release Hooks with load monitoring for the jetty mooring system, as well as working with golar on the design and supply of the double 150T Quick release Hooks, load monitoring, remote release and central computer system. The integration and alignment of the two systems was critical as the hooks on the outer dolphins, which moor the Lng carrier, are released from the fSru.
upstream Petroleum called on Trelleborg Marine Systems’ expertise to develop a unique single point mooring arrangement with load monitoring for the ‘Basker Spirit’ tanker. Trelleborg were able to design and implement an innovative inline vertical quick release chain stopper within tight time constraints to meet the delivery deadline. The 240 metre tanker has a capacity of 680,000 barrels and is located approximately 1.5 kilometres from the fPSO Crystal Ocean in Bass Strait, the notoriously rough sea strait separating Tasmania from the south of the Australian mainland.
Case Study 4FPSO East Fortune
The spread mooring solution that Trelleborg Marine Systems designed for Petrofac required the replacement of existing quick release spread mooring chain stoppers with dual pawl chain stoppers, whilst minimising the modification required for vessel structure. Trelleborg Marine Systems designed the new chain stoppers so that they would bolt on to the existing foundations, thus removing the need for any modification, fast-tracking the project and reducing costs. Petrofac are working to upgrade fPSO East fortune is to work on Petronas’ Berantai field in Malaysia.
To convert the former Lng carrier, ‘golar frost’ to an fSru, OLT required a ship-to-ship mooring solution including quick release hawser hooks, load monitoring and gPS OMAdS. Trelleborg Marine Systems worked closely with the contractor to develop a suitable bespoke solution and ensure compliance with rInA Classification requirements.‘golar frost’ will be permanently moored offshore at Livorno, Italy, approximately 12 miles from the coast in a water depth of about 120 metres and will have a storage capacity of 137,000 cubic meters of Lng and a production capacity of 3.75 billion standard cubic meters per annum (bscmpa).

Chain stoppers, quick release chain stoppers, hawser hooks and Quick release Hooks are the basis of any advanced, safe and reliable offshore integrated mooring system.
Load Monitoring and Remote Release
The safety of the mooring system can be enhanced by monitoring the mooring line tensions and by remotely releasing the mooring lines under tension, in case of emergency.
