OVERVIEW

In every community across the nation there

continues to be a need for the ability to provide

emergency medical care to acutely injured and

ill patients both in the pre-hospital and hospital

setting. The principles of modern pre-hospital

and hospital management for these patients have

driven the need for healthcare providers to seek out

additional education and training to take care of

such patients.

As the Texas Trauma System continues to

evolve, the focus has begun to shift away from

a strictly trauma patient focus and has begun to

include system development and management

of all patients acutely injured and ill. This year’s

symposium is designed not only to discuss the

hot topics in trauma care, but also incorporate the

evolving need for Stroke and STEMI care for both

the pre-hospital and hospital provider.

The symposium will provide an ideal mix of the

traditional standard-of-care principles along with

the most up to date treatments and practices

taking place across the county.
