• First unit built in 1996

• Based in Austria , Europe

• Production and Services

• We know everything about transformer oil

• 20 years of experience

• > 5 mil. tons of oil regenerated

• > 250 transformers

• > 30 transformers with corrosive sulfur

• Clients using our equipment ABB, Siemens

• Corrosive Sulfur removal

• Complete Oil regeneration like new oil

• Highly effective moisture removal

• Decrease in total sulfur content

• Highly efficient elimination of DBDS

• Mobile unit, Works on site

• Works on a live transformer

Filtration vs Regeneration

Copyright 2017 | STACO

• Filtration removes primary contamination of transformer oil – i.e. moisture and gases.

• Regeneration removes completely corrosive sulfur and aging byproducts – (micro particles of paper , wood and copper reaction)

• Improves :- – Tan delta– Viscosity– Acidity – ( Neutralization)

• Regeneration also improves the color of the contaminated Oil

Risk Factor

Copyright 2017 | STACO

• Corrosive oil

• High working temperatures

• Insufficient maintenance

• Overloading of transformer

• Insufficient cooling

Page 6: Transformer Oil Regeneration Technology

Which transformers are at risk?

Copyright 2017 | STACO

• Primarily transformers built between 1999 – 2007

• Transformers after maintenance

• Transformers after oil exchange

• Transformers after top up of oil

• Transformer already passivated

REOIL Plant

• Ability to economically regenerate used transformer oil

• Removes acidity , sludge and other ageing byproducts

• Ability to regenerate adsorption media such as fuller earth

• Entire process consists of two phases

Regeneration phase

Oil is heated then pumped through columns where activated media attracts ageing by products. Oil is then filtered and directed into the vacuum chamber for degassing

Reabsorption phase

Starts when activated media is fully saturated by controlling temperature, time, vacuum etc. Activated media is restored into original state. Process can be repeated more than 400 times before replacement
