How to Use This Book: Every top athlete has their own unique training plan to build on their strengths.

Leaders aren’t any different. Use this book throughout the day to guide, plan and reflect on the

unique lessons you’ll learn.

3@CivicActionGTHA

1. Be open to learning and challenging your ideas. We are all here to grow and learn as leaders. Approach each session and conversation with curiosity and a desire to understand.

2. Everyone is an expert in their own experiences. Speak from your own knowledge and experiences as opposed to making general statements and do your best to use “I” statements.

3. Be present in the conversation and respectful of others.

4. Take whatever actions you need if a discussion touches on difficult subject matter for you, including stepping away from the group. If you need any support, please look for a CivicAction staff member (they’ll be wearing nametags to identify themselves).

*Please note: Workshop facilitators may add additional suggestions based on the content being shared in each session.

In order to have a day of deep learning and reflection, we ask that all attendees agree to the following.

Social Contract.

Through our leadership programming, Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth are equipped with the skills and experience to change this country. To be the solvers, not just part of the solution.
