TRADITIONAL DAY CAMP Ages 6 - 14. (Must have completed Kindergarten) Each Camp Session is designed for each age group to ensure an unforgettable experience. Campers are assigned to groups based on age to ensure age and skill level appropriate activities: Challengers (Ages 6-7), Adventurers (Ages 8-10), Explorers (Ages 11-14) Each session costs $124 member*/$154 non-member plus a one time $25 registration fee. *Must have a 1 or 2 adult household membership for member rate. Horse camp is a one week progressive program offering three levels of horse camp. Campers will spend the whole day at camp, taking part in the total Y CAMP experience. All campers will follow the same camp schedule listed on page 2. Those enrolled in Horse Camp Adventure training will break off for 2.5 hours of training daily. See the schedule on page 2 for the remainder of the day. All horse campers must wear jeans. Campers must wear either old tennis shoes or boots. All campers should bring a water bottle. See page 2. Each session costs $214 member*/$244 non-member plus a one time $25 registration fee. *Must have a 1 or 2 adult household membership for member rate. BEGINNER The beginner level is for children with little or no riding experience. Campers are taught grooming, riding skills in the arena, basic horse anatomy and saddle parts. This level is crucial to the progression of horse camp. INTERMEDIATE The intermediate level is for children who have passed the beginner level, have had previous riding lessons and/or wrangler approval. Campers will be responsible for saddling and grooming their own horse, ring- riding skills will be reviewed and trail-riding skills (weather permitting) will be learned. Children signing up for this level must be comfortable on and around horses. ADVANCED Campers signing up for this level must have passed the intermediate level and/or wrangler approval. Participants will be responsible for all aspects of caring for their horse including rounding up, feeding, grooming and saddling. Students will spend time on advanced riding skills, trail riding (weather permitting), and program related games. HOW TO REGISTERTo register please go online http://bit.ly/DCYCamp2020 or stop in at the Dubuque Community YMCA/YWCA front desk to register for our camp sessions (35 N Booth St., Dubuque, IA 52001). Registration must be received one week prior to the beginning of the session.

MEMBERSHIPSConsider a Y family membership so your child can enjoy a whole year of activities at the member rate. Dubuque Community YMCA/YWCA family memberships are available on a monthly draft or annual payment plan.

The Dubuque Y now offers income based pricing which allows individuals and families to provide documentation of income and receive an adjusted rate that fits them for the membership type they are looking for. CAMP T-SHIRTSEach child will receive 1 free t-shirt at the first week of camp they attend! On Monday of each week we will take an all camp picture with their shirts on and share those on our Facebook group.

We will be keeping your kids busy with a variety of outdoor activities. Please remember to send them in clothes and shoes that can get dirty and/or wet. (If we have a rainy week, they will come home muddy.) Sending an extra set of clothes is always a good idea. INCLUDE CHILD’S NAME ON ALL PERSONAL ITEMS.

WHAT ARE WE DOING TO KEEP YOUR CHILD SAFE DURING COVID-19?We know and understand that sending your children to day camp may be unnerving right now due to COVID-19. We promise to provide the best quality care possible and follow all recommendations put out by the CDC, Department of Public Health and American Camp Association. To ensure the health and safety of all children we are keeping them in group sizes of 10, scheduling in frequent hand washing and sanitizing, and will no longer be providing bussing or lunches. Please note that we will continue to offer snacks for purchase as they are individually wrapped.
