Introduction

Golf Outing Information At Lomas Santa Fe Country Club, golf events are our specialty. We have a long history of welcoming

groups and events to our club. Golf packages are available for groups of all sizes. Whether you are

planning a small golf outing of 24 players or a full field shotgun, allow our experienced hospitality

experts to assist you with every detail. Our staff works together to produce top quality golf

experiences every time. Outside tournaments are available for non-members on Mondays only.

Format considerations are important when blocking space or collecting pricing information. From tee time

events and modified shotguns to full fields, our club can accommodate most any request.

Equipment rental is available for men and women provided that tournament requests are received by the

course within one week of the tournament date.

Group lessons and clinics are available for a fee or included in one of the selected golf outing

packages. Warm-up range balls, scoring, putting, and chipping contests are included in the price per

guest. Custom tee prizes, merchandise, and certificates are available to complement any golf outing.

A Confirmation Agreement will be sent confirming all details, including the number of players, format,

start time, date and any other details determined at the time to hold the space. Once the signed

Confirmation Agreement is returned with the full deposit, the event is considered definite.

The non-refundable deposit, applied to your total, is required to reserve your date. The amount of the

deposit is equal to 25% of the total estimated event total. 100% of the final estimated balance is

due 10 days prior to the event date. You are obligated for, and guarantee payment of, all charges. All

outstanding balances must be settled on the golf outing date. Payment for final charges will be based on

the greater of the guaranteed guest count or actual number of participants, and may also include service

charges, breakage, or other services or merchandise purchased on the golf outing date, plus a cash bar.

Adjustments to the group’s size and requirements may be made without penalty or surcharge

pending final guarantees are received by the course within thirty (30) days prior to the event date. A

reduction of more than 50% of the group’s requirements within thirty (30) days is deemed a

cancellation and thus subject to a cancellation fee—normally the amount of non-refundable deposit

plus the number of unsold tee times at the group rate as the result of the cancelled tee times.

To complete your tournament experience, our Ballroom and Patio are the perfect complement to a

fabulous day of golf and available for your use.

Tournament Starting Options

Single Tee

This option is ideal for small groups (16-40 players). Each foursome will tee off at the first (1st) tee in

sequential order.

Modified Shotgun

Best option for groups with 72-120 players. The entire tournament will start at the same time.

Full-Field Shotgun

This option is designed for groups with 120+ players and requires that the full course be used. Two groups

start on each hole. All players will start and finish at approximately the same time.

Tournament Format Options

Best Ball Twosome

2 persons play as a team, taking handicaps as they fall on the card. Lowest score on the hole with handicap

counts toward the team’s best-ball score for round. Only the lowest score on the hole is counted. The team

that has the lowest 18-hole score wins.

Best Ball

This format may be played as 2, 3, or 4-person teams, and is typically a fun format with a medium pace of

play. Golfers play their own ball on each hole, recording the lowest score as the team score. This format may

be played with or without a handicap. Results can be calculated quickly.

Scramble

This format is one of the more enjoyable for tournament play, as only the good shots are played,

resulting in a fast pace of play. The tournament begins with all players hitting a tee shot. Next, the

best tee shot is selected and all players take their second shot from that point. The process is repeated

until the ball is “holed out” and the team records a score. The winning team is the one that records

the lowest 18-hole score. This format promotes easy, fast scoring.

Shamble

This format is also one the more enjoyable types of tournaments, because like a scramble, you use good

shots only for a portion of the hole, but you also get the opportunity to play your own ball. Each

person hits a drive, and the team selects the best one. From that point forward, each player plays his or

her own ball through the hole. The team records a score and the winning team is the one that records

the lowest 18-hole score.

Skins

A match play tournament where a “skin” is a point given to the player with the lowest score on a given

hole.
