Tottenham Central School Newsletter Principal: Amanda Thorpe Week 6, Term 2 Thursday, 6th June, 2019
Assembly Our next assembly is on Friday 14th June and then again on July 5th.
Parent Information Session- Cyber Safety
Senior Constable Martin Paice - School Liaison, will be at our school on Friday, June 14. He will be delivering cyber safety lessons for our students, focusing on keeping your child safe online. He will also be holding a parent information session at 1:15pm before assembly. Previous parent sessions by Senior Constable Paice have always been a wealth of information and highly recommended by those who have attended.
Work Placement
Year 12 Metal and Engineering student, Joel Gray, is at Custom Steel Frames, Dubbo, this week. He has been busy welding and fabricating metal and has really developed his skills.
Year 11 student, Michelle Harding, is working at Furney’s Town and Country for her Primary Industries placement. Michelle has been super busy assisting customers with their agricultural needs.
City of Dubbo Eisteddfod Results
On Monday, our primary students and staff travelled to Dubbo to participate in the City of Dubbo Eisteddfod. The results are nothing short of amazing!
Our Year 3&4 students won the recorder section. Our 5&6 students came 2nd in the African drumming section. K/1/2 didn’t receive a place, but performed beautifully and did their absolute best.
Congratulations to everyone. We are so proud of our students and forever thankful that we have the talented Mr Justin Screen on our staff as our music teacher. Our music program is certainly proving its worth and is just another “string in our bow”. Amanda Thorpe, Principal

This week Michelle and Joel have been completing their work
placement blocks in Dubbo. Michelle has been working at
Furney’s Town and Country as part of her Primary Industries
course and Joel has been working at Custom Steel Frames as
part of his Metal and Engineering course. Both students have
had very good reports about how they have been going. Thank
you to Mrs Crystal Stanford for organising the block of work
placement for the students, and thank you also to all staff who
have been supervising the students.

Geurie. Congratulations to Lucy Baldwinson, Olivia Mills, Billy
Baldwinson, Connor Bulloch, James Mills and Abbey Medcalf.

Youth Club
Hopefully everyone enjoyed the Family Fun Night at the town
oval last week. This Friday evening, we have Angus and Mrs
Baker on duty.
Tickets are purchased ready for our trip to Parkes on 15th June
and the bus is booked. I’m still trying to find some additional
fun activities for while we’re there. The meeting on Tuesday,
11th will get to decide the additional activities!
Meeting: Tuesday, 11th June, 3:45pm start. Agenda items to
the Secretary by Monday 10th.
Keep checking on our Facebook page for updates to activities
etc.
I am grateful to those people who, when are unable to do their
shift on the roster, have been arranging a trade and then
letting me know! Wonderful teamwork!
Second semester roster will be out in the next few weeks.
Please advise Mrs J if you have a specific preference for a date
or an activity.
Letters have gone home regarding attendance at Youth Club.
They also contain an overview of how the Youth Club
operates, hopefully clarifying any misunderstandings.
Please take the time to familiarise yourself with these.
