Product Definition Frames Topside Umbilical Termination Units (TUTUs) provide a reliable and robust interface between the main umbilical and the topside utility equipment on a platform or a FPSO. The units can be used for hydraulic fluids such as water/glycol or mineral oil, electric signals, fiber-optic communication, but also for a wide range of chemical fluids. Product Description At Frames, we work closely with your business to develop customized solutions that match your unique process conditions, plot space and other site-specific requirements. We generally design our Topside Umbilical Termination Units as an AISI316L enclosure or an AISI316L open frame, which may be in accordance with design standard DNV 2.7.1 or DNV 2.7.3 for portable offshore units. The TUTUs can also be designed to include nozzle loads and blast loads to allow the units to operate in harsh environments. Process Description

A Frames Topside Umbilical Termination Unit is designed for safe

bleeding off of hydraulic or chemical fluids in order to de-energize

the pressure in the umbilical line. The units can also be used for

pressure monitoring.

A TUTU will typically be connected to a subsea HPU, a production

HPU and/or a chemical injection skid. The TUTU lines will be sized

for the applicable fluid and pressure levels, flow requirements and

compatibility with the process fluid. The lines can be designed with

inlet and/or outlet pressure monitoring by means of a pressure

gauge, pressure switch or a pressure transmitter.

The single or double block-and-bleed valves can be sized with a

Ball-Ball-Ball or Ball-Needle-Ball or Needle-Needle-Needle valves or

manifolds, depending on the required flow or fluid condition.
