Procedures1. Firstly, the metal plate was marked out based on the measurement given. The process was carried out by heightgage and scribber as the marking tools. The metal plates is placed on the magnetic V-block to avoid the plates from being move during marking process. This process was handled on a surface table which has a flat surface. The processes were shown on the figures below.

Figure 4.1 The dimension is measured on the heightgage before marking process.

2. Then, a few holes need to be made on the both metal plates. Bench drill is used to make the holes on the plates. But before drilling process, a few marked have been made on the part where holes will be made. This was to make the drilling process become easier as the cutting tool will follow the path made by the marked parts. Figure 4.4Process of making holes on the metal plates using bench drill.

3. After that was the cutting process. The metal plates were cut based on the shape and measurement given. The plates was tighten using a vice clamp. Then, by using hacksaw, the workpiece was cut follow the line made by the scribber and heightgage in the first step. There was a part need to be cut by using the bench drill because the hacksaw cannot enter that part to cut it. By using bench drill, a few holes were made on the part and then by using pliers, that part was bend off.

Figure 4.7This is how the centre part looked after being bend off by the pliers.

4. The last processes was filing process. All part that have been cut need to be file as the cutting processes on the plates left a very rough surfaces. Lastly, the both part of the metal which are female part and male part were assembled together. Figure 4.8 Shows the filing process using file.Figure 4.9Both female and male part were tested for assemble.
