Are you stuck for Fundraising ideas? Here is plenty of inspiration to get you started. Whether it’s a large or small event, you can find something to suit everyone! Just remember that it is often the simple ideas that are the best and planning ahead is the key to your success.

AFTERNOON TEA/MORNING TEAHave your family, friends or work colleagues bring a plate of food and charge an entry fee to all participants.

CASUAL DAYHold a regular casual day at your school or workplace and charge each of those who join

CHOCOLATE DRIVE Purchase fundraising chocolates to sell at school or work. You may even like to include bags of lollies and/or cakes?

BOOK SALESGet your friends, family and work colleagues to clear out the book shelves and organise a “book sale” where all proceeds are donated to Starlight.

CAKE SALE Bake a few cakes and sell each slice.

BBQ/SAUSAGE SIZZLEHold a BBQ at your school or for friends and family and charge an entry fee or charge for each item. Why not host a Star-BQ and support Starlight Day. More info at starlightday.org.au

DONATEDonate an hour’s pay, or why not a day’s pay?

DRESS UP DAYForget dressing down, it’s your chance to glam up at school or work!

DINNER PARTYHold a dinner party for friends and fundraise through a raffle or tickets.

END OF YEAR PARTYWhy not name Starlight as your charity of choice at your end of year party at your school or work place? Charge a small entry fee, play fun games and give out prizes.

FANCY DRESS DAYSOrganise a fancy dress day at your school or workplace such as favourite movie or rock star, crazy tie, bad hat or purple and yellow only day. Why not plan your event for September to support Starlight Movie Month. More info at starlightmoviemonth.org.au

GUESSING COMPETITIONFill a jar with lollies, coins, rubber bands or thumb tacks and charge $5 per guess.

HAIR COLOUR OR SHAVEGather a group of friends or work colleagues willing to change their hair to a crazy colour temporarily in return for sponsorship dollars. Or, if you’re really brave, why not organise a head shave?

INTER-DEPARTMENTAL SPORTS MATCHESOrganise for teams or departments to play against each other in a knock out competition. Anyone for netball, soccer etc?

KARAOKE NIGHTWhy not hold a karaoke night for your friends or for work’s next social function?

MAKEOVER EVENINGHold a pamper session with your girlfriends or workmates and organise beauticians and massage therapists to provide complimentary treatments. Each person pays an admission fee.

MERCHANDISE SALESHost a Starlight Stall and sell merchandise to support Starlight Day (more info at starlightday.org.au) or visit our shop (shop.starlight.org.au) and purchase merchandise packs to sell in the office or at school.

MOVIE PARTYMovies are an important escape for everyone, especially when you’re feeling sick. Host a Movie Party at home, at school or in the office. Plan your event for September to support Starlight Movie Month. More info at starlightmoviemonth.org.au

LUNCH MONEYInstead of buying lunch, why not have your school mates or friends bring in their own lunch one day and donate what is normally spent on lunch to Starlight?

SLEEP OVER UNDER THE STARSBe a bit adventurous and get your school or local group (Guides, Scouts, sporting club) to hold a special outdoor sleepover?

STAR PARTIESTurn your next morning or afternoon tea or party into a Star Party with fundraising for Starlight.

SCHOOL SPORTS DAYFundraise at your school sports day by holding competitions, a raffle or selling Starlight merchandise.

RAFFLEOrganise prizes to raffle off at your school or workplace. Why not ask local businesses to support you in donating prizes.

QUIZ DAY/NIGHTOrganise a “bright sparks” trivia quiz for school mates or work colleagues to prove who really is the smartest of the bunch! Why not make your event movie themed and plan your event for September to support Starlight Movie Month. More info at starlightmoviemonth.org.au

LOGIES EVENTDo you and your friends follow the Logies? Perhaps hold your own Logies night with prizes for “work related categories” and hand out Logie statuettes to the winners.

VICTORY DONATIONWhen your school or sports team wins a competition, why not donate the winnings to Starlight?
