Wardrobe war series shelvedBy Dolly Anne Carvajal

OGIE Alcasid is all ex-cited for his Valen-tine concert with

wife Regine Velasquez at theBig Dome on Feb. 14.

Mr. and Mrs. Awill be our first fullconcert together after

    we got married and

had a baby, he says. Our life story is dif-ferent now so oursongs in the show are

based on the manywonderful and chal-lenging sides of mar-riage.

Has his two daugh-ters met their babybrother? We are allmeeting up in anothercountry when I turn45 this year, he re-

veals. I sometimeswish I had Nate when

I was younger, but he camein Gods per-fect time.

Ogie neednot worryabout the gen-eration gap.His uncondi-tional love asa dad willmore thancompensatefor that. The

bond between fatherand son knows nobounds.

    Why not a storyfor Pinoys?

Too bad that Alta, the teleserye ofGretchen Barrettoand Angelica Pan-ganiban, has beenshelved. Or are they

    just revising the

    script?Heard they decid-

ed to make it a bitsimilar to Revenge, thehit TV drama in theUnited States. Dothey really have topattern local series af-ter foreign ones, evenif two countries havedifferent sensibilities?Wouldnt it be betterif they dug deeper in-

to their creative reser-voir to come up witha story meant forPinoys?

    A very complicated love triangle

apart. Lisa called me once tosay sorry but I never botheredto talk to her again. Its so hardto forgive. Lisa still texts Jaybut he never called her again.Jay still calls me every night. We still talk about the usualthings but I couldnt bring back

the old glow. He still loves meand I still love him so much.Nothing has changed, Joe. I still

want him back but its not easyto accept him again. What will Ido? I dont want to lose him butI dont want to be hurt that wayagain.

    Thank you so much,Ina

DEAR Ina,When someone we love breaksour hearts the pain it brings

creeps into the deepest recesses ofour souls and tears us apart. Weare raged with hatred and har-bor nothing but anger. Sadly, justwhen our anger subsides, our egotakes over. Sometimes a hurt

pride takes a lifetime longer toheal and this usually gets in theway of any peaceful reconcilia-tion. We may never find the best

foot to put forward because weare always taken aback by ourown pride and dignity.

You can point your blame onJay and Lisa all your life, but thatwould not change anything. Noamount of regret can turn thehands of time and give you the

power to change what destiny has

DEAR Joe,My painful story concerns two of my co-workers whohappen to be the closest people in my life. Jay was myvery first friend in the office. He was really very kindand even if he was a real snob, we got along very well.I turned to him at a time when my parents were justseparated and I was in deep sorrow.

When Jay had to go to theprovince to visit his ailing mom,I became close to Lisa who waslike the black sheep in the of-fice. She had no permanentfriends because she was reallychildish and impulsive. She wasthe first person who noticedthat I wasnt feeling fine. Shealways checked on me and wasconcerned about how I was do-ing. She was very sweet andthoughtful although she was areal spoiled brat. It was a goodthing that I was a very patientperson and I was the only one

who understood her. Althoughshe had given me so manyheadaches, I was still thankfulthat she was there for me whenI needed her .

I was happy when Jay wentback to work after a week. Itold him about Lisa. He neverliked her and asked me to stayaway from her but it wasntlong when the three of us be-came good friends. Jay finallyproposed but I only wanted himto be a friend at that time. Lisaknew there was something spe-cial about our friendship and soshe stood as the bridge for thetwo of us.

After three months, I an-swered Jay. We decided to keepit a secret and Lisa was a bitdisappointed with us for nottelling her right away. Things

    went smoothly again and at

some point I just felt that some-thing was wrong. Jay and Lisabecame very sweet to each oth-er. I confronted Jay and toldhim that I needed a little re-spect. I wanted Lisa to keep herdistance, to define the bound-aries of their friendship, and toacknowledge that I was Jaysgirlfriend.

We eventually patched upeverything and Jay and I wereback in each others arms. Lisaresigned after a month to giveJay and I the space we needed. We tried to stop her but to noavail. On her last day the threeof us went out. When I camehome I called up Lisa and Jaybut both were not home yet. Ididnt sleep the whole night. I

was hoping my senses were notright.

The next day, Jay confessedeverything. Lisa invited him togo out for a drink. Lisa was aseasoned drinker but Jay wasnot. He said that he just foundhimself in bed with Lisa. Jayshowed me Lisas messages ask-ing for forgiveness and askingto return her call. Jay cried sohard and he kept on saying sor-ry to me in between sobs. I felt

the deepest pain in my life, be-ing hurt by my boyfriend andclose friend.

I decided to end everythingwith Jay. I ignore him in the of-fice even if it tears my heart

    Love

permanently etched in your life.Ina, you can never find rest untilyou finally let go of the hatred in

your heart. Dont live all your lifecursing Lisa for falling in love with

Jay. She laid her cards and askedfor forgiveness. I think its abouttime you let the past rest in peace.

Ina, remember that there isnobody perfect. Even the mostcautious man stumbles upon the

smallest stone. If you still loveJay then dont be too hard onhim. I think its just fair to givehim another chance to prove hisworth and give your relationship

a fresh new ground to start with.We can only appreciate thebeauty of a rose when we hold itbut with this comes the possibilityof getting pricked by its tinythorns. There is no relationship sobeautiful that we can have withouta price. Love will always have away of putting us to the test. Thisis your call, Ina. Make your choice.Give love a chance because youmay not have this chance again.
