at the Phoenix Zoo I will...

Tell a story. It’s fun to remember our experiences and share them with others. Find a quiet spot to relax and talk about your Zoo visit. What was your favorite animal that you saw? Why was it your favorite?

Find and name colors. The Zoo is filled with many colors, day and night. Can you find all the colors in the rainbow? Which color do you see the most of? If you visit ZooLights, predict whether the colors will be the same as in the daytime.

Use many senses to explore. Visit the Fruit & Veggie Garden at Harmony Farm. What do you smell? What do you see? What do you feel? Draw a picture or write about something in the garden and leave it in the mailbox in the Windmill House.

Watch an animal move. Animals move in many different ways; we call their movement “locomotion.” Can you move like that animal? Describe other ways that animals move.

Count animals at the Zoo. Find a place with many animals. How many are there? Some animals live in groups, we call these “social” animals. Observe the animals. Are they all acting the same way or doing different things?
