The Burning Bush News and information about growing God’s children at
Tree of Life Evangelical Lutheran Church
Odessa, Delaware June 9, 2019
This is Christ's church. There is a place for you here.
We share a living, daring confidence in God's grace. Liberated by our faith, we embrace you as a whole person --
questions, complexities and all. Join us as we do God's work in Christ's name for the life of the world.
Today is Pentecost Sunday Pentecost is a day of promises fulfilled. The promised Spirit of God is poured out. The baptized have become “children of God” and “joint heirs with Christ.” By the power of the Spirit we have seen the face of the Father in his only begotten Son and been saved by him. Bless the Lord, O my soul. - sundaysandseasons.com

It is easy to donate altar flowers
Sign up for a Sunday of your choice at the desk near Fellowship Hall, put $25 in one of the envelopes there (Make your check payable to Tree of Life LC.) with your name and date of the Sunday you are paying for, and place it in the offering plate. After service, the flowers are yours to take and enjoy. Please leave the silver con-tainer and the vase - which belongs to the florist - on the kitchen counter. You can take your flowers home in a vase located in the lower cabinet to the left of the stove.
Our Combined Family Day Picnic is next Sunday, Father’s Day
We have invited the families of the two religious groups that also worship here, Oasis of Love and Kingdom Harvest Fellowship, to join us. This social event is being coordinated by Sylvia Schill and Jim Guldner. Kick off your Father’s Day celebrations by staying after worship for this fun picnic. Hamburgers and hotdogs will be provided, grilled by our own Shaun Baker. Please help with the side dishes by taking a post-it note from Fellowship Hall and bringing that dish next Sunday. Also consider bringing chairs and your favorite outdoor games. This is a great opportunity to get to know each other better and meet the other
Christians who worship here.
Today’s flowers are donated by Jean Mullen
in honor of husband Rick’s birthday
