The Connecticut Department of Agriculture continues to reinforce that farmersrsquomarkets can operate in a safe capacity throughout the pandemic and hasissued guidance on how to do so Markets should work with their local healthdepartment to ensure everyonersquos needs are being met

Nearly all farmersrsquo markets in Connecticut are certified CT Grown and affiliatedwith the Farmersrsquo Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) FMNP serves participantsof Women Infant and Children (WIC) and seniors who are over the age of 60and meet income eligibility guidelines with checks to purchase fresh fruitsvegetables cut herbs and honey To find a farmers market that accepts FMNPchecks please visit the FMNP page Farmers Market Nutrition Programs

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has released an initial list ofadditional commodities that have been added to the Coronavirus FoodAssistance Program (CFAP) and announced other adjustments to the programbased on comments received from agricultural producers and organizationsand review of market dataProducers will be able to submit applications thatinclude the new commodities on Monday July 13 2020 USDArsquos Farm ServiceAgency (FSA) is accepting applications for CFAP through Aug 28 2020 USDAexpects additional eligible commodities to be announced in the coming weeksChanges to CFAP include

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has released an initial list ofadditional commodities that have been added to the Coronavirus FoodAssistance Program (CFAP) and announced other adjustments to the programbased on comments received from agricultural producers and organizationsand review of market dataProducers will be able to submit applications thatinclude the new commodities on Monday July 13 2020 USDArsquos Farm ServiceAgency (FSA) is accepting applications for CFAP through Aug 28 2020 USDAexpects additional eligible commodities to be announced in the coming weeksChanges to CFAP include
