Survey Says….by Kirmesha Thompson This month we asked you on Survey-Monkey which of these “lucky” and magical creatures you’ve seen.

Here are the result by percentage. But all of you should have said you’ve seen a Russian-speaking li-brarian, because that’s Mrs. K!

Dear Mr. Moo,

My boyfriend has been acting weird around me. He hasn’t been hanging out with me as much, and when I say “Hi,” he ignores me. What should I do?

- Feeling Invisible

Dear Invisible,

Have you changed your looks or personality? Be-cause, if so, he may be un-comfortable with the situa-tion and not know how to tell you. You may have to take the first step and start a conversation with him.

Moo-Dude,

I have a crush on a girl in my class. How do I let her know I like her when I’m too shy to tell her?

- Love is Hard

Dear Love-Dude,

OK dude, if you’re too shy to ask a crush out, think how hard it’s going to be to get with someone you know and really, really like. So, I say, be a man and get it over with. If she says “No,” that’s OK. There will be other crushes.

Mrs. Shirley,

So...lately I’ve had this really nagging feeling, and I guess it is that I told my best friend a really big secret about me & now I think she told somebody. What do I do?

TMS Kid

Dear Kid,

If you don’t ask your friend, you will never know, and it may ruin a perfectly good friendship. So, be honest with your friend and ask her. But don’t accuse her, just be nice about it.

Ask Mr. Moo & Mrs. Shirley

away from the bad people, never give up on your dreams. Another thing: be outgoing! If you’re shy, it’s not going to work! The guys here fall for shy girls, but it’s only because they have a plan. Boys do: cheating, breaking your heart, stealing forgiveness! I’m not saying stay away

from guys, just make sure you hear good things about them first. Again, DRAMA is for haters! So stay away from it girls, just stay away…

Sincerely,

DRAMA HATERS

An Open Letter of Advice! Dear Girl Reading,

You may think coming in this school would be fun...Ehhh! Wrong! I’m not saying it’s really bad, but it’s pretty bad. Jealousy, back-stabbing, wild emotions, and everything else can ruin your year. Advice: pick friends carefully, say

Madness

When you’re mad you scream, shout and go to the darkest place in your mind,

You hurt people you know and love, even people you don’t know,

But the truth is you are hurting yourself,

Slowly the anger turns into tears,

The tears turn into hatred,

It’s like the sands of time,

Slowly one by one each grain falls to the bottom of the hour glass of life,

When your dreams become nightmares,

WAKE UP!

Maybe we should all wake up

One benefit of using your newsletter as a promotional tool is that you can reuse con-tent from other marketing ma-terials, such as press releases, market studies, and reports.

While your main goal of dis-tributing a newsletter might be to sell your product or service, the key to a successful newslet-ter is making it useful to your readers.

A great way to add useful con-tent to your newsletter is to develop and write your own articles, or include a calendar of upcoming events or a spe-cial offer that promotes a new product.

You can also research articles or find “filler” articles by ac-cessing the World Wide Web. You can write about a variety of topics but try to keep your articles short.

Much of the content you put in

your newsletter can also be used for your Web site. Micro-soft Publisher offers a simple way to convert your newsletter to a Web publication. So, when you’re finished writing your newsletter, convert it to a Web site and post it.

or make predictions for your customers or clients.

If the newsletter is distributed internally, you might comment upon new procedures or im-provements to the business. Sales figures or earnings will show how your business is growing.

Some newsletters include a

column that is updated every issue, for instance, an advice column, a book review, a letter from the president, or an edi-torial. You can also profile new employees or top customers or vendors.

This story can fit 100-150 words.

The subject matter that ap-pears in newsletters is virtually endless. You can include sto-ries that focus on current tech-nologies or innovations in your field.

You may also want to note business or economic trends,

selecting images that appear to be out of context.

Microsoft Publisher includes thousands of clip art images from which you can choose and import into your newslet-ter. There are also several tools you can use to draw shapes and symbols.

This story can fit 75-125 words.

Selecting pictures or graphics is an important part of adding content to your newsletter.

Think about your article and ask yourself if the picture sup-ports or enhances the message you’re trying to convey. Avoid

Once you have chosen an im-age, place it close to the article. Be sure to place the caption of the image near the image.
