Team Selection GuidelinesObjective: Title IX continues to be a high priority in the Clark County School District

(CCSD). The attached forms are designed to assist principals and athletic administrators to establish and maintain Title IX compliance within their school’s athletic programs.

Directions: Please ensure the attached forms are completed and kept on file in the school’s athletic office. A copy of the Season Participation Form should be submitted to the district athletic office by the second week of play of each sport.

Please do the following:Step 1: Each head coach should complete and submit the Team Selection Form to

the school’s athletic office.

Step 2: The school’s athletic director should compile and transfer the information from the Team Selection Forms to the appropriate Season Participation Form.

Step 3: All Team Selection Forms should be kept on file in the school’s athletic office.

Step 4: The school’s athletic director should submit the appropriate Season Participation Form to the district’s athletic office by the second week of play of

each sport.

Please contact the district’s athletic office if you need any additional information. Thanks for your support and assistance in our efforts to maintain Title IX compliance.

• Clark County School District• GIRLS’ INTRAMURAL PROGRAM GUIDELINES

• Mission Statement: The mission is to provide female students an opportunity to participate and develop an interest in sports currently not offered by Clark

County School District (CCSD).• Objectives: The objectives of the program are: To identify and develop an interest in female sports not currently offered by the district.  To increase female participation in athletics.

•Implementation Plan:

Step 1: Establish responsibilities of the Intramural Advisor: Assist with the selection of the “new” sport Promote the program Sign-up of students Equipment control (prior/post) Supervise students Track student participation Complete and submit post report Others 

•   Step 2: Select an Intramural Advisor Preferably an on-campus staff member Selection must be cleared by Substitute Services Approximate salary ($700 -$1,000 per unit) All hours should be submitted on Form D

•   Step 3: Determine site-based guidelines: After school program Female students only! Inter-school competition only! Sign-up procedures

• Step 4: Promote the program:• Develop and distribute handouts• Develop school announcements• Post on the school website• Determine program guidelines such as :• After school program• Female students only!• Inter-school competition only!• Sign-up procedures•  •  • Step 5: Selection of a sport:• Utilize a student body survey (girls only) or conduct student interest meetings• Make a selection based on interest, available equipment, and available facility• Must be a non-sanctioned sport• Examples of non-sanctioned sports are lacrosse, badminton, field hockey, archery, table tennis, etc.•  •  • Step 6: Determine times and hours:• Offer one (1) non-sanctioned sport per semester (Girls only)• Each unit should be at least six (6) weeks• After school hours (ex. Two (2) hours a day for three (3) days a week) (ex. 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm)• No weekends•  •  • Step 7: Determine and provide equipment needs:• Physical education equipment will be utilized when possible• Students may use their own equipment (i.e. lacrosse)• If purchase of equipment is required:• School athletic budget• Gate receipt fund
