Answering Question 1.

Assessment objectivesQuestion 1

• To assess candidates ability to construct sentences

• To write grammatically correct sentences using given words and stimulus

Key points :1. Go straight to the point and only write what you see.

2. Write only 5 sentences. If you have more ideas, combine them by making compound sentences.

3. Be careful of your punctuation. Make sure you start with a capital letter and end a sentence with a full stop. If you use proper nouns (eg names… Ali , Kampung Bahagia), make sure you start with a capital letter.

4. Check your spelling.

5. Use adjectives or adverbs suitable to the picture. Adjectives – tall boy , busy children, hardworking pupils Adverbs- walk quickly, paint carefully, stir carefully, arrange neatly

Answering Question 3.

ASSESSMENT OBJECTIVE

Question 3To assess candidates’ ability to express ideas in sentences with correct structures.

TASK:To write sentences about the pictures in a paragraph or paragraphs using the given words and express their ideas creatively.

CRITERIA FOR A GOOD ESSAY

1. The essay must have characters (include the names and descriptions).

2. The essay must have place (include place /give descriptions).

e.g. My car has broken down. Can you lend me a hand?• To rain cats and dogs : rain very heavily

e.g. It was raining cats and dogs this morning.• To sell like hot cakes : to be sold off quickly

e.g. The books sold like hot cakes because they were very popular.• To talk big : to boast

e.g. Don’t talk big. I know who you are.

10.Add a conclusion

Examples of sentences which could be used as conclusions.

It was a fun day.

It was an exciting trip.

He went home happily .He helped someone.

His parents were proud to have a son with a heart of gold.

They praised him for his quick thinking.

He is a role model for his friends and siblings.

He regretted and promised not to do it again.

Look at the pictures. You may use the words given to write about Faiz helping a blind man in the space provided.
