Time Management Tips: A method to organize and create time

management for every day

What is Time Management?

Time management is the ability to use one's time effectively or productively, especially at work.

Now what if you could manage your time effectively so that you could get to all your activities,

including work and all things that you find important?

I would say based on that definition, that's a winning formula.

I'm about to teach you the best time management tip and the best thing is you only need to do

this process once to get repeated value from it.

Time Management Process

What you are going to need for this is a timer, 2 sheets of paper, and your brain. Just type in

timer on google and it will give you one.

Step 1: Set the timer to 10 minutes and split the first sheet of paper in half with a vertical line.

One side is column A, one is column B.

Step 2: Consider all the things that have been on your mind, keeping you up, and eventually

caused you to look for some time management tips. Now with the purpose of writing down any

and everything you can with no editing, start the timer and write everything you can think of in

column A. Anything can be written down, from personal life to business. If it's on your mind, it

gets time on the paper.

Step 3: Next put 5 minutes on the timer and cross off everything that you can't do anything

about. These are things like wanting a certain reaction from somebody, trying to prevent or

respond to an event, etc. You will know these things. It's key to time management that you

don't waste your time on things that you really have no control over.

Step 4: We are putting 5 minutes on the timer again. This time you are going to cross off

everything that you despise, dislike, or have been saying you would do for months to years.

Cross those things off and put them into column B.

Step 5: With 3 minutes this time, cross off everything in column B that you have procrastinated

on and have been saying you would do for a while. It's important in time management to know

what's important. These things aren't important and even though they may eventually have a

place in your life, they don't have a place in your daily management of your time.

Step 6: We are doing 3 minutes again here. Take the new sheet of paper and set it up the same

way. Take everything that is not crossed off and put it on the same list. I know it seems crazy,

but you will see how this plays into your time management. Note: Column A is now your main

important things to get done and B is the things you want to outsource.

Step 7: Flip the sheet of paper over and write down your top 5 priorities in life. These could be

health, spirituality, personal development, business, relationships, creativity, passions, etc. You

might have to think about this for a while. It's ok if you do there is no limit here. This is key to

your time management so be thoughtful and put them in order of importance.

Step 8: Last we are going to make a schedule based on these priorities. Your day doesn't have

to address priority #1 first, but it is a good guideline to figure out when you should do

everything. My schedule follows doing my #1 and #2 in order, but then skips to 5 because it

makes my day flow. Put everything in time frames. Ex. From 8:00am-10:00am you're doing

something. Fill up your day. Your time management is going to be topped off by putting your

schedule in google calendar.. If you have a smart phone then use this with it as well.

Why did we make the lists?

The point of the lists is simple. Just because you know what subject you're focusing on doesn't

mean you are managing your time well based on what you need to do that day. Usually your

column A should fit into one of the 5 priorities and like I said earlier, you want to try and

outsource the things you don't want to do. If it's not possible create an extra time slot in your

day at #6 labeled extra and find time to start working on those things.

I hope that you enjoyed these time management tips. Check out the rest of the blog to get
