time for yourself

TIME FOR YOURSELF? Stress is a big problem today. Our lives are busy. Do we have enough time for ourselves? Louise Brent, a gym instructor in a large health club in London and divorced with one child, Joey, tells us about her day: Joey, who is two and a half now, always wakes up early- at about 6:00 0´clock, so I get up then. I wash and dress her and give her breakfast. Then she plays and I get ready for work. I eat some cereal, have a quick cup of coffee and then at 7:30 I drive her to the child care center. I catch the 8:15 train to Cannon Street and usually start work at 9 AM. In my lunch break from 1 to 2 o’clock, I usually go shopping and then eat a sandwich in a cafe. I finish work at 6, catch the 6:20 train and pick up Joey from the child care center. An hour later, we get home at 8 o’clock. We eat together and play a little for half an hour and then I put her to bed. I watch the 10 o’clock news and go to bed at 10:30. I spend more time with Joey during the weekend. We sometimes go to the park or the Zoo or I invite other mothers with their children to visit us. When Joey is in bed, I do housework. It’s very tiring but one weekend a month she goes to her father, who is now married to someone else. That’s when I get some time for myself. TIME FOR YOURSELF? Stress is a big problem today. TIME FOR YOURSELF?

Stress is a big problem today. Our lives are busy. Do we have enough time for ourselves? Louise Brent, a gym instructor in a large health club in London and divorced with one child, Joey, tells us about her day:

Joey, who is two and a half now, always wakes up early- at about 6:00 0clock, so I get up then. I wash and dress her and give her breakfast. Then she plays and I get ready for work. I eat some cereal, have a quick cup of coffee and then at 7:30 I drive her to the child care center. I catch the 8:15 train to Cannon Street and usually start work at 9 AM. I spend more time with Joey during the weekend. We sometimes go to the park or the Zoo or I invite other mothers with their children to visit us. When Joey is in bed, I do housework. Its very tiring but one weekend a month she goes to her father, who is now married to someone else. Thats when I get some time for myself.
