• EU:n 7. puiteohjelma
• ICT-tutkimus puiteohjelmassa
• Horisontti2020

City Flow Concept
• Monitor the flow of people, vehicles and public transportation on a city wide scale in real time
• Based on data fusion between WiFi, GSM and video sensors
• First installations are located in Barcelona, Prague and Singapore
© DFRC AG
Objective 1.6 (Connected and social media) – Project ideas Deutsche Telecom
• Augmented reality content – from authoring to sharing – Build an eco-system that motivates people to create their own AR content,
combine their life events with virtual/synthesized events, and share their experiences with their social network.
– From scene capture and representation to rending of AR data on mobile devices for improved Quality of Experience (QoE).
• Web QoE: From lab-tests over crowdsourcing to Big Data – Enhance users’ browsing experience in server-to-user network infrastructure by
investigating the impact of delay times on user perception and behavior.
– Include different contexts (fixed access vs. mobile access, devices) and different usage patterns (user groups, tasks, websites).
– Employ results in content delivery networks (CDN) architecture and content-aware network design.

Essential and accidental complexity
„The essence of a software entity is
a construct of interlocking concepts: data sets, relationships among data items, algorithms, and invocations of functions. [..] such a conceptual construct is the same under many different representations.” *
„[..] accidental tasks arise
in representing the construct in language.” *
* F.P. Brooks, ”No silver bullet: Essence and accidents of software engineering”
