Dear Parents & Carers I am sure that many of you are ready for a half term break. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy some time with family and friends during this break and get some lovely weather. Once again, we have been asked to support the NHS Test and Trace process during half term. Therefore, if your child develops symptoms within two days of having been at school, i.e. if your child is in school on Thursday 27 th May and symptoms develop on Thursday evening 27 th May, Friday 28 th May or Saturday 29 th May, then you must book a PCR test immediately. If the test is positive, you must immediately report the result to us by emailing [email protected]. This is the email that will be monitored so please do not email any other school email addresses with test results. We will then contact parents/carers of the affected bubble and any other close contacts to inform them their child must self-isolate for 10 days. This will be done by Parent Mail. If your child develops symptoms after two days of having been in school, you will still need to book a PCR test. In these cases, please follow contact tracing instructions provided by NHS Test and Trace. We will be available for contact tracing purposes up to and including Tuesday 1 st June but only for children who developed symptoms within 2 days of last being in school and have tested positive. May I remind you that a Lateral Flow Test (home test kit) cannot be used to test someone who has symptoms of coronavirus. These tests are only for people who do not have any symptoms and are not advised for children of primary school age. If you need to report a positive test result please email your child’s test result to [email protected] and include the following details: Child’s name: Child’s class: Date they were last in school: Date they first developed one (or more) coronavirus symptom: Which symptom/s: Any close contacts from school they have had (e.g. contacts due to car sharing, child minder, breakfast/after school club): If they have had a music lesson (please include instrument or teacher and date they last had the lesson). Please note that it may be necessary for me to contact you if you submit a positive test result. This is likely to be using a withheld number as I may not be in school. Stay safe and enjoy your half term. Kind regards Mrs Morrison COMING UP Friday 28 th May INSET Day Monday 7 th June Return to school Newsletter – Thursday 27 th May 2021

Skills for Life

This week's skills for life focus is 'Have you filled a bucket today?' by Carol McLoud. The children watched a clip of Carol McCloud reading the book herself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEg38zCOMgk We discussed how we might fill other people's buckets and how we might fill our own. We thought about what the children might do over half term to fill their own buckets or someone else's. We ended by sharing this song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H98Rfljxmsc and reflecting on whether the children liked it and what they might learn from it. Recommended Resource Please find attached a resource from the Big Life Journal which may help you to talk to your child about negative thoughts.
