Dayrit Lecture Series with the topic Things You Ought To Know: IFLA Key Issues in Electronic Resources Collection Development and CMO Proposed Standard Guidelines for Academic Libraries (Draft)to be held on 11 September 2013, 1:00-3:30PM at the Meeting Room 4, SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. The lecture series, named in honor of our founding president Ms. Marina G. Dayrit, aims to provide a fertile learning environment for new ideas and enlightened discussions among library and information professionals in the country. The specific objectives of this lecture series are to: (1) help librarians and information professionals develop an awareness of the IFLA’s Key Issues in Electronic Resources Collection: A Guide for Libraries and the CMO Proposed Guidelines for Academic Libraries Common to All (Draft); (2) better understand the key issues, problems, and challenges in electronic resources collection management; and, (3) recognize the strategies of developing electronic resources in today’s Philippine libraries. In this regard, we would like to invite all librarians and LIS teachers and students of Collection Development to this lecture series. There is a registration of Php300 for members, Php350 for non-members, and Php200 for students to cover snack and certificates. Only limited slots are available. Registration is a first come, first served basis. We also invite you to join or renew your membership (fees: Php200, individual; Php500, institutional).
