THE 1st MEDITERRANEAN JUNIOR WUSHU CHAMPIONSHIPS

REGULATIONS

A. DATE AND PLACE

The Mediterranean Wushu Championships will be held in Rabat, Morocco from March 15th to 19th, 2018.

B. VENUES

1. Competition Venue: Stage National des Régions Rabat Tamara

2. Training Venue: Stage National des Régions Rabat Tamara

C. COMPETITION EVENTS

Competitions will include Taolu and Sanda for athletes in the following age categories:

1. Taolu Events:

Group A: 15 to 17 years of age (including 17) (Athletes who were born between January 1, 2001

– December 31, 2003)

Group B: 12 to 14 years of age (including 14) (Athletes who were born between January 1, 2004

– December 31, 2006)

Group C: 6 to 11 years of age (including 11) (Athletes who were born between January 1, 2007 –

December 31, 2011)

2. Sanda Events:

Only one age group: 15 to 17 years of age (including 17) (Athletes who were born between

January 1, 2001–December 31, 2003)

D. ENTRIES

1. Preliminary Entries

The preliminary Entries Forms must state the exact number of competitors taking part in events.

All entries must reach the Organizing Committee of the Mediterranean Wushu Championships

not later than the10st of February 2018.

2. Final Entry:

The final entry forms must be submitted by email. The Final Entry Forms shall be printed in two

copies. One Copy must reach the AFWF Secretariat by email no later than 24:00 (Morocco time)

on 20 February 2018. One Copy must be brought with the team as confirmation during team

registration.

No changes or additional entries will be accepted after the dead line.

All entries must be properly typed or printed in English.

All final entries are valid only when signed by the President or Secretary General of the

respective Federation and bearing the official stamp of the Federation

E. ARRIVAL & REGISTRATION

All participating teams are required to check-in at the Organizing Committee of the Mediterranean Wushu

Championships not later than 24:00 (Morocco time) on the 15th of March, 2018. When registering, the

participants should settle the relevant fees of the Championships and bring all their necessary

competition equipment, otherwise, the participants will not be allowed to participate in the competition.

o Teams arriving at Casablanca airport will be transferred to Rabat by a designated transportation

company at a cost of €20 (Twenty Euro) per person (one way).

F. TECHNICAL OFFICIALS

Each participating Taolu Team can send one International or continental grade Taolu judge. Each

participating Sanda Team can send one International or continental grade Sanda judge. All

(IWUF/continental License holders) must present their valid certificates to the Organizing Committee for

registration.

G. TECHNICAL MEETING

The Technical Meeting for Team managers’ coaches will take place at 19:00 (Morocco) on the 16th of

March 2018. The meeting will announce the matters related to the competitions. Each team should send

two representatives for Taolu and two representatives for Sanda to attend the meeting.

H. DRAWING – LOTS CEREMONY

The drawing-lots of the Mediterranean Wushu Championships will be conducted by the Technical

Committee at 20:00 (Morocco) on the 16th of March 2018. Each team may send two Taolu and two Sanda

representatives to attend the ceremony. The Technical Committee will draw on behalf of the teams that

are unable to send a representative.

I. WEIGHING-IN

The weighing-in for Sanda athletes will take place at 18:00 (Morocco) on the 16th of March 2018.

J. PLACING & AWARDS

1. Taolu:

- 1st place Gold Medal & Certificate

- 2nd place Silver Medal & Certificate

- 3rd place Bronze Medal & Certificate

- 4th – 8th place Certificate

2. Sanda:

- 1st place Gold Medal & Certificate

- 2nd place Silver Medal & Certificate

No placing will be awarded if the total participants in a weight category is less than

two (2).

K. FINANCIAL CONDITIONS

The airfare, food, accommodation and participation fees of participating teams & judges shall be borne

by the teams themselves.

1. Accommodation costs for Athletes, Team officials & Observers:

€70 (Seventy Euro) per person per day (double room)

€80 (Seventy -Five Euro) per person per day (single room)

2. Accommodation costs for Athletes, Team officials & Observers:

€75 (Seventy - Five Euro) per person per day (double room)

€85 (Eighty - Five Euro) per person per day (single room)

3. All participating teams are required to pay a participation fee as stipulated below:

Participation Fee for Taolu Teams:

€100 (One Hundred Euro) per team

€10 (Ten Euro) per athlete per event entered

Participation Fee for Sanda Teams:

€100 (One Hundred Euro) per team

€10 (Ten Euro) per athlete

4. The Organizing Committee will arrange the accommodation and transportation for Participating

teams. If any team will arrive earlier or will depart later than the required date; they should inform

the Organizing Committee to arrange their accommodation. Teams will pay the additional costs

as mentioned in the regulations.

5. The Preliminary Application for hotel accommodation must state the exact number of rooms and

the number of days to be booked. This shall be sent to the Morocco Wushu Federation by mail.

6. The Organizing Committee request that all participating teams should lodge at the designated

hotels arranged by the Organizing Committee.

L. OTHER MATTERS

Each team is required to bring the following:

1. 3 x National flags, regional flags or federation flags (1m×2m);

2. Their national anthem or federation song on CD and USB;

3. 3 x Colour photos (passport size) per team member;

4. Printed and stamped Final Entry Form;

5. Valid Health Certificates of all athletes and Life Accidental Injury Insurance Certificate (valid for

the respective country or region);

6. Completed and signed “Waiver of Liabilities” for each participant.

The participating teams should strictly observe the regulations and rules of the competition

and compete fairly. Violators shall be punished with seriously in accordance with the IWUF

regulations

B. PARTICIPATION METHODS

Each country may submit one Taolu team consisting of at most:

Group B: 2 x Boys & 2 x Girls

Group C: 2 x Boys & 2 x Girls

1 x Team Manager

1 x Administrator

1 x Coach

1 x Judge

1 x Doctor

Each competitor may participate in a maximum of two (2) individual events and one (1) duilian

event.

Each country may only submit a maximum of one (1) athlete in each event.

Each country may submit at most one (1) duilian group for either boys or girls.

C. COMPETITION METHODS

1. Competition includes individual competition only.

2. Unless otherwise stated within these regulations, the competition will be conducted in

accordance with the 2005 edition of the “IWUF Rules for International Wushu Taolu Competition”

and utilize the Non-Degree of Difficulty Scoring Method (comprising of A Group – Quality of

Movements Scoring & B Group – Overall Performance Scoring only).

3. For Boy’s Xingyiquan and Girl’s Baguazhang, the Evaluation of Quality of Movements (Judging

Group A) listed in the respective table will be utilized (Please refer to tables in the appendix at the

end of this document).

4. For Boy’s Shuangdao and Girl’s Shuangjian, the Evaluation of Quality of Movements (Judging

Group A) of Changquan, Jianshu, Daoshu, Qiangshu & Gunshu technique categories, deduction

content & deduction codes will be applied.

5. Time limit:

Group A Routines:

For Changquan, Daoshu, Gunshu, Jianshu, Qiangshu, Nanquan, Nangun & Nandao, each

routine’s duration shall be no less than one minute and twenty seconds (1min 20s).

For Taijiquan and Taijijian, each routine’s duration shall be between three (3) to four (4)

minutes

For Boy’s Xingyiquan and Girl’s Baguazhang, each routine’s duration shall be no less than

one minute (1min).

For Boy’s Shuangdao and Girl’s Shuangjian, each routine’s duration shall be no less than

one minute (1min).

Group B Taijiquan & Taijijian Routines:

42 Forms Taijiquan: 5-6 minutes; 42 Forms Taijijian Routine: 3-4 minutes.

All other routines:

There is no time requirement for other events.

D. COSTUMES & EQUIPMENT

1. Competitors shall wear wushu competition costumes in compliance with the rules during all

events. This must be brought & prepared by the competitors themselves.

2. All weaponry must conform to the requirements as stipulated in the rules. This must be

provided by the competitors themselves.

B. PARTICIPATION METHODS

Each country may submit one Sanda team consisting of at most:

Maximum of 12 Taolu athletes comprising of at most:

2 x Girls

1 x Team Manager

1 x Administrator

1 x Coach

1 x Judge

1 x Doctor

The competition will be Individual Competition.

Each team may at most enter one (1) athlete per weight category, and each athlete may enter

only one (1) weight category.

Each competitor should bring along with them a valid Health Certificate (including

electroencephalogram, electrocardiogram, pulse and blood pressure) issued within 30 days prior

to the star of the competition signed by a qualified doctor and a Life Accidental Injury Insurance

Certificate. All competitors are required to submit a completed and signed waiver of liabilities

form, which has been signed by the competitor’s parent or legal guardian.

C. COMPETITION METHODS

1. The competition will be Individual Competition.

2. The single knockout system will be adopted. If the number of competitors in a weight category is

3 or less, a single round – robin method will be adopted.

3. Following arrival and registration, the athletes will go through the initial weighing in and drawing

lots formalities as stipulated in the schedule. All Sanda athletes will be required to weigh-in daily

during the competition. Details regarding this will be circulated at a later time once finalized.

4. Unless otherwise stated within these regulations, the competition will be conducted in

accordance with the “IWUF Wushu Sanda Competition Rules & Judging Method 2017”.

5. Kicks to the head as well as successive/continuous punches to the head are not permitted.

The duration of each round shall be 1 minute 30 seconds.

D. COSTUMES & EQUIPMENT

1. Competitors shall wear costumes and protective gear in compliance with the “IWUF Wushu Sanda

Competition Rules & Judging Method 2017” to participate in the competition.

2. Each competitor is required to possess two (2) sets of competition costumes: one set in blue and

one set in red.

Each competitor is required to possess their own mouth guard, jockstrap, instep guard, gloves,

chest protector and head guard.

Gloves and other protective equipment must conform to the stipulations in the rules. Incorrect

protective gear may result in disqualification from the competition.

Championships. The 1st Mediterranean Junior Wushu Championships is hosted by African Wushu Federation (AFWF)) and organized

by the Morocco Wushu Federation, hereafter AFWF and Morocco Wushu Federation collectively referred to as “Organizing

Committee”. In consideration of the Organizing Committee accepting my application, I hereby assume all risk of physical and mental

injuries, disabilities and losses which may result from or in connection with my participation in the 1st Mediterranean Junior Wushu

Championships. Acting for myself, heirs, personal officers, agents, representatives and assignees, I do hereby release the Organizing

Committee, its officers, agents, representatives, volunteers, judges and referees and other related members from all claims, actions,

suits, and controversies at law or in equity by reason of any matter, cause or thing whatsoever that I may sustain as a result of or in

connection with my participation in the 1st Mediterranean Junior Wushu Championships. I fully understand that all medical attention

or treatment afforded to me by the Organizing Committee, its officers, medical personnel, representatives, volunteers, and all other

related members will be of the first aid type only, and hereby release the Organizing Committee its officers, representatives, volunteers,

and all other related members from any liability for such aid. I understand it is my obligation to obtain my own medical coverage.

I agree to abide by and follow the Rules established by the Organizing Committee. I agree that I will conduct myself in a

professional and courteous manner at all times and to be subject to penalties and sanctions for violations related thereto. I understand
