The Mission

The Vision

ES FiberVisions is a venture of FiberVisions, L.L.C., a whollyowned subsidiary of Hercules Incorporated, and ChissoCorporation to develop and market bicomponent fibers foruse in hygienic and other applications on a worldwide basis, excluding Japan. FiberVisions and Chisso incorporates all oftheir bicomponent fiber operations and activities into the jointventure.

The Venture

Chisso Corporation produces a comprehensive range of basicchemicals, plastics, fibers and other products for leadingindustries in Japan and abroad. Chisso continues to enhancethe reputation for technological excellence by pioneeringdevelopment in bicomponent fibers, and liquid crystal technol-ogies widely employed in advanced electronics fields. Chissohas headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, and manufacturing facilitiesin Moriyama, Shiga, Prefecture, and Guangzhou, China.

Product development

Production Methods

ES FiberVisions has developed bicomponent fibers that areexcellent at providing maximum strength and dust reductionin airlaid products made of fluff pulp. These fibers also providegood wet strength and processing on airlaid equipment.By changing the sheath / core ratio, type of fiber, and blendlevels, nonwovens with diversified textures can be produced.

Our bicomponent fibers are used for reinforcing paper andfor superior wetlaid nonwovens. To match the requirements ofgood dispersability in the process and enhanced performancein the finished product, we tailor a fiber solution based onfiber denier, cut length, crimp level and wettability. The bicomponent fibers create a strong network throughoutthe product and improve the wet strength and integrity of theproduct. They may also be used to provide heat sealabilityand other properties.

Airlaid

Wetlaid

One of the most common methods used in manufacturing thenonwoven fabrics with bicomponent fibers involves thermalbonding of the carded webs by such processes as through-airbonding, calender bonding (flat roll & embossed roll), etc. Thethrough-air bonding is suitable for producing a bulky nonwovenfabric, multilayered products, and composites.

Carded

ES FiberVisions is a dynamic and growing company dedicatedto developing innovative products to meet customers’ needs.Pilot facilities in Japan, Denmark and the US benefit fromclose ties to original equipment manufacturers, allowing aunique opportunity for the company to be the first in theindustry in providing the products of tomorrow.

Our global manufacturing presence helps us to deliver thesenew products at the lowest possible cost. With over 25 yearsof advancement in the bicomponent fiber field to draw upon, the company excels in researching new fiber designs andnew fiber finishes to meet customers’ requirements andtimetables. Excellence and integrity in engineering design setES FiberVisions ahead in research and manufacturing.
