The Wolverine May 2019 May is nearly here and this means another graduation is just around the corner. This also means another school year is nearly finished. It seems to me that each year simply flies by. Even though investment yields are not great, the money provided will assist Wilber-Clatonia students in funding a portion of their year one college expenses. Looking forward, this summer will find us hosting several camps and clinics. The custodial staff will be hard at work on periodic maintenance, repairs, replacements, re-painting and deep cleaning. Work will also begin on an expansion for the Agri-Science Careers Program. The project will be 5,000 square feet of space in an open span metal building. The building will contain a classroom, a live animal barn and a clean lab. The live animal space will eventually contain pens and cages that will allow students to study living requirements for a variety of animals, including insects, reptiles and mammals. There are even plans for some of the animals to give birth in the space so students can gain an understanding of the birthing process and care of newborn animals. The clean lab will allow students to learn more about the end product of food production including cutting of meat from wholesale cuts to retail cuts. Students may also mix spices for and stuff sausages and bratwurst. The work on this project should begin just after school gets out and should be finished by the end of December barring any delay. Our District continues to grow and change to the needs of our students. The additions, renovations and periodic maintenance and upkeep are necessary items to insure the instructional environment is the best it can be. May 2019

May is nearly here and this means another graduation is just around the corner. This also means another

school year is nearly finished. It seems to me that each year simply flies by. The end of the school year is also an exciting time as students finish up spring activities and several student organizations hold their

awards or honors night banquets. As a District wide system students have nearly finished mandatory state testing. Staff and students are also busy completing curricular items and capstone projects. As the days

turn nicer I encourage everyone associated with the District to work hard and finish strong, putting forth

the best effort possible as we complete the final 3-4 weeks of the school year.

Wilber-Clatonia has some teaching staff that is either retiring after many years of dedicated service or

advancing in their professional careers. Retiring are: Janis Dymacek and Debbie Ripa. Changing careers or moving on are: Brock Rezny, Kellan Garber, Nick Thompson, and Amanda Rivera. I want to say thank

you and good luck to those staff who are starting on a new path in their life’s journey.

The Wilber-Clatonia Foundation is selecting Foundation Scholarship recipients on April 26th. The awardees

will be announced during the graduation ceremony on May 11th. The Wilber-Clatonia Foundation continues to be just one of the many great community assets for our students. The Foundation has approximately

$1.6 million in funds invested with the annual investment income being awarded in scholarships. The

Foundation continues to review investment options that insure the highest possible yield while following the guidelines and rules established in the By-Laws. Even though investment yields are not great, the

money provided will assist Wilber-Clatonia students in funding a portion of their year one college

expenses.

Looking forward, this summer will find us hosting several camps and clinics. The custodial staff will be hard at work on periodic maintenance, repairs, replacements, re-painting and deep cleaning. Work will

also begin on an expansion for the Agri-Science Careers Program. The project will be 5,000 square feet of space in an open span metal building. The building will contain a classroom, a live animal barn and a clean

lab. The live animal space will eventually contain pens and cages that will allow students to study living

requirements for a variety of animals, including insects, reptiles and mammals. There are even plans for some of the animals to give birth in the space so students can gain an understanding of the birthing

process and care of newborn animals.

The clean lab will allow students to learn more about the end product of food production including cutting

of meat from wholesale cuts to retail cuts. Students may also mix spices for and stuff sausages and bratwurst. The work on this project should begin just after school gets out and should be finished by the

end of December barring any delay.

Our District continues to grow and change to the needs of our students. The additions, renovations and

periodic maintenance and upkeep are necessary items to insure the instructional environment is the best it

can be.

As we finish the year-work hard, enjoy the summer that is coming and always show your Wolverine PRIDE!

Athletic Banquet Wilber Clatonia High School Athletic Banquet

Monday, May 6th, 2019 at 6:00 p.m.

At SOKOL Hall in downtown Wilber.

All high school sport participants, managers, cheerleaders and unified bowling team members are requested to be in attendance to receive your awards.

The meal is a potluck for you and your family. Please bring two dishes: vegetable, salad or dessert dish. Meat will be provided by Lefty’s Catering again this year.

We ask that you bring your own table service: some items will be on hand for those that don’t bring their own.

If you cannot be in attendance for the meal, please try to be there for the awards portion of the evening.

Please make sure that all lunch accounts are paid in full by the last day of school. Your student will not be able to complete their check out if they have an unpaid bill.

Seniors MUST have their lunch accounts paid in full on the Thursday before Graduation.

If a Senior has any money left in their accounts it will be transferred to a sibling still in school. If the Senior does not have any siblings left in school and the amount is over $2.00, a check will be sent to the parents in June for the remaining amount.

If you would like to make payments into your student’s lunch account over the summer, this may be done online through our MySchoolBucks, or a check sent to the school, or stop in and make a payment. We have staff here through the summer. Our office hours are usually 7 am to 3:30 pm over the summer, with the exception of the Memorial day and 4th of July holidays.

Lunch Reminders

Beginning after July 1st, our Free and Reduced

applications will be available

online and also in the office.

Please let us know if you

have any questions.

Have a great summer!!

A Healthy Reminder

As the school year is coming close to an end, I encourage parents to stop in the

health office and pick up their child’s medications before May 16, 2019. Medications

left over will be destroyed and will no longer be held over the summer. Starting in the fall, new medication can be brought in for your child/children. This will hopefully eliminate the storage of expired meds.

Getting a “JUMP” Start on the upcoming School Year!

It is never too early to start scheduling for the upcoming school year’s medical,

dental, and vision appointments. Appointment times tart filling up fast over the

summer months. When visiting your medical clinic, always make sure and take a

current copy of your child’s immunization record with you. This will help update your child’s health records and see what immunizations your child may need. Please

remember when scheduling your appointment to ask the receptionist if any

paperwork needs to be completed in advance. Kindergarten physicals and vision exams can be done no earlier than 6 months prior to school starting and

NSAA sports physicals can be done after May 1st. Please make sure and have all

patient information completed on required forms prior to the appointment. This will speed up your appointment time. Don’t wait until the last minute, start scheduling

your appointments today.
