From the Principal’s Pen…

Dear Parents and Friends,

I have some sad news to share with you. St.

Matthew’s Lutheran School in New Britain is closing

its’ doors on Friday. Please keep their families, teach-

ers, staff, and Principal in your prayers as they decide

their futures. The faculty and staff have been God’s

faithful servants to the children, families, and commu-

nity. They will truly be missed.

Please know that Immanuel’s Board of Chris-

tian Education has been meeting every week. We are

still looking for a Principal and have several names to

call. We also have interviewed a pleasant young lady

for the First Grade position and have two others to in-

terview. Please keep the BOCE in your prayers as they

continue their work.

There are so many activities as we are winding

down our school year. As we get ready to sort out

things, empty desks and lockers, and other chores some

of us are a little sad as we think about leaving our

friends for the summer. When I was at ILS many years

ago the summer seemed so very long and I remember

my Gramma saying, “Wait till you get older…”. Well,

I’m older and she was right. Time does seem to fly by,

so young people enjoy the summer, every single minute

If would like to submit ideas for our MUM FESTIVAL PARADE FLOAT (parade

is Sept. 25th at 1:30pm and the theme is Bristol “Best Kept Secrets”) or volunteer

to work on our parade float, please contact Trina in the office.

Also, our school will have a booth at the ROCKWELL PARK FESTIVAL on

August 20th from 10am to 6pm. If you can work for an hour or two at our

booth to promote our school, please contact Trina in the office.

Girl Scouts Immanuel Lutheran School Troop #66072

We had our END OF YEAR PIZZA PARTY AT ROCKWELL PARK

again this year—IT WAS GREAT! We invited some of our new friends that

will be joining Girl Scouts next year and had pizza, snacks and great fun!!!

WE WON FIRST PLACE at the IRON CHEF CAMPOREE

at Camp Pattagansett in East Lyme, CT for our JAMBALAYA!!! GREAT JOB GIRLS!!!

Thank you, once again, to all the families for

allowing us the privilege of working with such a

wonderful group of girls this year. We worked

hard, earned lots of badges and had great fun in

the process!!! So, enjoy your time off, HAVE A

GREAT SUMMER VACATION, and we’ll see you in the

Fall!!

It is our goal at Immanuel, that no child should be declined a Christ-centered education because of finances. For over 117 years, our school has made Christian Education a centerpiece of it’s ministry. In order to make this possible, it is vital that we have resources available for tuition assistance.
