Page 2: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Does our theology of God have room for the person of God?

• Do we worship rules and Christian guidelines more than we worship Jesus?

• Do we worry more about offending than being true to Christ?

• Is our life with God sustaining? Life-giving?• Or is it boring? Predictable?

Page 3: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Num 16:31 And it happened, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, the ground under them split apart.

• Num 16:32 And the earth opened her mouth and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men who were for Korah, and all their goods.

Page 4: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Isa 20:2 at that time Jehovah spoke by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and take the sackcloth off your loins, and take your shoe off your foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot.

• Isa 20:3 And Jehovah said, Just as My servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot three years, a sign and wonder on Egypt and on Ethiopia;

• Isa 20:4 so shall the king of Assyria lead away Egypt's prisoners, and the Ethiopian exiles, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with uncovered buttocks, to the shame of Egypt.

Page 5: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord Jehovah is on Me; because Jehovah has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor;

Page 6: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Gen 22:1 And it happened after these things that God tested Abraham, and said to him, Abraham! And he said, Behold me.

• Gen 22:2 And He said, Take now your son, your only one, Isaac, whom you love. And go into the land of Moriah, and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will name to you.

Page 7: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Hos 1:2 The beginning of Jehovah speaking by Hosea. And Jehovah said to Hosea, Go, take to yourself a wife of adultery and children of adultery. For the land has utterly gone lusting away from Jehovah.

• Hos 1:3 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim, who conceived and bore him a son.

Page 8: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• 1Pe 4:11 If anyone speaks, let it be as the words of God.

Page 9: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Ki 11:1 And King Solomon loved many foreign women, even the daughter of Pharaoh, Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, Hittites;

• 1Ki 11:2 of the nations which Jehovah had said to the sons of Israel, You shall not go in to them, and they shall not go in to you; surely they will turn away your heart after their gods. Solomon clung to these in love.

• 1Ki 11:3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines. And his wives turned away his heart.

• 1Ki 11:4 For it happened when Solomon was old, his wives turned away his heart after other gods. And his heart was not perfect with Jehovah his God, as was the heart of David his father.

• 1Ki 11:6 and Solomon did evil in the sight of Jehovah, and did not go fully after Jehovah like his father David.

• You may be a preacher with your spiritual pride• You may be a city councilman takin' bribes on the side• You may be workin' in a barbershop, you may know how

to cut hair• You may be somebody's mistress, may be somebody's heir

• But you're gonna have to serve somebody• Yes you're gonna have to serve somebody• Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord• But you're gonna have to serve somebody

Page 11: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Lev 17:13 And any man of the sons of Israel, or of the strangers that are staying among you, who hunts game, beast or fowl, that may be eaten, he shall even pour out its blood and cover it with dust.

• Lev 17:14 For it is the life of all flesh. Its blood is for the life of it. Therefore I said to the sons of Israel, You shall not eat the blood of any flesh. For the life of all flesh is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.

Page 12: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Joh 6:53 Then Jesus says to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His blood, you do not have life in yourselves.

• Joh 6:54 Whoever partakes of My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

• Joh 6:55 For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed.

Page 13: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Mat 24:24 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and show great signs and wonders; so much so that, if it were possible, they would deceive even the elect.

Page 14: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Mat 12:1 - 4 • At that time Jesus went through the grain fields on the

sabbath day. And His disciples were hungry, and began to pluck the heads of grain and to eat.

• But when the Pharisees saw, they said to Him, Behold, your disciples do that which it is not lawful to do on the sabbath day.

• But He said to them, Have you not read what David did when he was hungry, and those who were with him,

• how he entered into the house of God and ate the showbread, which was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those who were with him, but only for the priests?

Page 15: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Mat 12:5 - 8 • Or have you not read in the Law that on the sabbath

days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath and are blameless?

• But I say to you that One greater than the temple is in this place.

• But if you had known what this is, "I desire mercy and not sacrifice," you would not have condemned those who are not guilty.

• For the Son of Man is Lord even of the sabbath.

Page 16: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Mat 12:9 - 12 • And when He had departed from there, He went into their

synagogue. • And behold, a man having a withered hand. And they asked

Him, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbaths? This so that they might accuse Him.

• And He said to them, What man among you will be, who will have one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the sabbaths, will he not lay hold on it and lift it out?

• How much better is a man then than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

• but our sufficiency is of God; • 2Co 3:6 who also has made us able ministers

of the new covenant; not of the letter, but of the spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit makes alive.

• Act 11:27 And in these days prophets from Jerusalem came to Antioch.

• Act 11:28 And one of them named Agabus stood up and signified by the Spirit that there should be great famine over the world (which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar).

Page 19: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Act 21:10 And as we stayed more days, a certain prophet from Judea named Agabus came down.

• Act 21:11 And coming to us, and taking Paul's belt, and binding his hands and feet, he said, The Holy Spirit says these things: So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man whose belt this is, and will deliver him into the hands of the nations.

Page 20: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Act 21:8 And the next day those around him going out, Paul came to Caesarea. And entering the house of Philip the evangelist, he being of the seven, we stayed with him.

• Act 21:9 And there were four virgin daughters to this one, who prophesied.

Page 21: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Act 10:1 And a certain man named Cornelius was in Caesarea, a centurion of the Italian cohort,

• Act 10:2 one devout and fearing God, with all his household, both doing many merciful deeds to the people, and praying continually to God.

• Act 10:3 About the ninth hour of the day he saw plainly in a vision an angel of God coming to him and saying to him, Cornelius!

• Act 10:4 And he was gazing at him, and becoming terrified, he said, What is it, lord?

Page 22: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Co 14:37 If anyone thinks to be a prophet, or a spiritual one, let him recognize the things I write to you, that they are a commandment of the Lord.

• Co 14:39 So then, brothers, seek to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak in languages.

Page 23: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• oh 3:8 The Spirit breathes where He desires, and you hear His voice, but you do not know from where He comes, and where He goes; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.

Page 24: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Rom 11:33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!

• Rom 11:34 For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor?

Page 25: THE WILD SIDE OF GOD

• Isa 55:8 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor your ways My ways, says Jehovah.

• Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.
