The Widowed Friends Annual Christmas Party will be held at Christ, Our Light! with Mass at 2:30PM, followed by a catered dinner and fellowship. The cost is $18 per person for members and $24 for non-members. For details, see the attached flyer and registration form. Space is limited to 125 people. Deadline is November

The Healing Journey

~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is no right or wrong way to handle holidays and special days. Some may wish to follow family traditions, while others may choose to change. Do what works for you. Plan to be with the people YOU enjoy. Include your spouse in your conversations. Hang a stocking for him/her or set a single rose at a place setting. Look at photographs. Once others realize that you are comfortable talking about your spouse, they are likely to join in with stories and expressions of their feelings. Do something for others in memory of your husband/wife by volunteering your time or providing assistance for those in need to make their holiday happier. Be kind to yourself and get enough rest. Remember, anticipation of a holiday or significant day is often much worse than the actual day.
