the valley hospital earns “a” safety score for sixth consecutive year

The Valley Hospital recently announced that it earned an “A” rating on the Fall 2014 Hospital Safety Score report, which analyzes the ability of hospitals to protect patients from infections, errors, and injuries during care.
While 2,520 general hospitals received a safety score, only 790, or 31 percent, garnered an “A” rating. This is the sixth consecutive year that Valley Hospital has secured the highest score, and the medical center is among only 204 hospitals across the nation to receive an “A” rating for all six years that the reports have been issued.
The Hospital Safety Score report is
administered by the Leapfrog Group, a
nonprofit, independent organization that
advocates for quality health care and
safety. Through its grades, Leapfrog
recognizes specific hospitals’
commitment to raising health care
standards and making patient welfare
the highest priority.
