TheaterGames Productions Steps of the Words Saturday, June 1 at 2 pm Sunday, June 2 at 1 pm

An anthology of ballads from the past to modern days. A ballad is a novel in which flow and rhythm enrich history and make it iconic at the same time. Each step, each chapter, and each word becomes an emotional experience of the protagonist and gives us a chance to build a unique poetic play. This performance is performed ENTIRELY IN RUSSIAN, is 90 minutes long with one 15 minute intermission and is appropriate for ages 8+ due to subject manner.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley Archduke Previews: June 5 - 7 at 8 pm June 8 – June 30: Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 7:30 pm Thursdays and Fridays at 8 pm Saturdays at 2 and/or 8 pm Sundays at 2 and/or 7 pm

Can one man, one moment, derail a century? Pulitzer Prize finalist Rajiv Joseph explores the present by focusing on the past: the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo, 1914 — the flash that ignited World War I. On a darkly comic quest for immortality, three hapless insurgents prove that little has changed from then to now. This New Works Festival sensation is from the author of Broadway’s Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo.

8 Effortless Ways to Be a Five-Star Coworker

I’m not saying that we don’t have bad days, but going into work in a bad mood is unfair to your coworkers. Like you, they are paid to perform a job, well. Admittedly a coworker’s mood should not affect our ability to complete a task, but in reality, it does.

Whether you are long-term employee or a newcomer, distinguish yourself by being the five-star coworker every one aspires to be. Bonus: the boss will notice.

Here are 8 effortless ways to become a five-star coworker:

1. Greet or acknowledge coworkers with a smile or a nod.

2. Take a moment to talk to new coworkers to help make them feel welcome and included.

3. Be reliable. This means arriving to work on time; not taking a “mental-health” day when your department is

swamped; and, doing your job well.

4. Practice courtesy. Always remember to say “Please” and “Thank you.”

5. Congratulate your coworkers when they’ve done a great job, received a promotion, or achieved a personal goal.

6. Express concern and/or interest when coworkers experience health concerns or are going through a personal loss

or trial. (Privately, of course.)

7. If you have offended or been rude to a coworker, promptly and sincerely apologize. (Without excuses.)

8. Listen without interrupting—allow the person to complete their sentence.

This may sound cliché, nonetheless, I’ll say it; tomorrow is a new day, an opportunity to choose to become the coworker

everyone looks up to and looks forward to seeing. It takes courage to change, but once you tackle one of these, you’ll be

able to take on the next one.

CIVIL WAR May 25, 26 & 27 BATTLES & ENCAMPMENT

Join us Memorial weekend for the 38th Civil War Battles and Encampment reenactment at Roaring Camp. Reflect on this pivotal period in our nation’s history as members of the American Civil War Association assemble to reenact famous battles. Experience the sights and sounds of cavalry charges, musket fire and artillery shells in one of the longest-running historic reenactments in the West. Ride a 100-year-old iron horse through an ancient redwood forest and witness skirmishes as the steam train ascends Bear Mountain.

Glimpse a soldier’s daily life as he cooks meals over a campfire, cleans his musket, and prepares for the day’s activities. Spectators may visit encampments of Union and Confederate Soldiers, inspect regiments as they march in review, and observe surgeries performed at field hospitals.

Roaring Camp’s steam trains depart each day at 11 a.m., 12:30, 2:00 and 3:30 p.m. and pass by the battlefield on the way to Bear Mountain. Beach trains depart from Roaring Camp for Santa Cruz at 10:15 am and 2:15 pm. Beach train departs from Santa Cruz for Roaring Camp at 12:15 pm. A chuck wagon barbecue is served from noon to 3 p.m.
