The Urban List is an ever-expanding, hand-selected guide to all that’s worth eating, drinking, buying and booking in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, attracting over 1 million visitors/month searching for our recommendations as to who and what is happening around town. Now established in 3 locations, we are ready for a PR Manager that’s hungry for their next challenge—the chance to blow the competition out of the water and contribute to The Urban List’s continued business growth. Based in our Sydney office, your PR skills will raise awareness and change perceptions in the B-to-B and media agency landscape placing The Urban List as the go-to innovative content solution provider for businesses, small and large, across Australia. A self-motivated person, the successful candidate will be the sole PR representative for the group, working across all businesses in The Urban List family, including Winger Social (https://wingersocial.com) and eCommerce agency, Alley Group (http://www.alley-group.com). As a start-up organisation, culture is critical. We are looking for a PR Manager who shares our passion for The Urban List, is eager to work in an environment where growth and change happens daily, and where collaboration and communication is key.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and implement effective PR plans that establish The Urban List as an innovative, high-growth business; an effective marketing channel for businesses and brands; and a champion of the small business community in Australia

• Establish and exceed targets for media coverage, and position key spokespeople as experts in their field

• Directly and proactively drive business development

opportunities

• Proactively identify and manage industry, State and National Awards submissions ensuring a clear, strong and analytical case is delivered to ensure a successful outcome

• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to ensure full

understanding of The Urban List’s nimble and innovative solutions to effectively communicate to the market

• Contribute to The Urban List’s B-to-B communication strategy

and execution, including: o The Academy—an education resource for small business o The Urban List for Business Facebook page o The Urban List for Business eNewsletter o Guest blogging for complimentary platforms

• Securing presentation opportunities to showcase The Urban List and associated businesses, representing the company where required

• Ensure the Winger Social business is also given adequate PR support

from a B-to-B perspective as and when required

• Support The Urban List executive team in developing engaging presentations and proposals

• Manage and curate a comprehensive calendar of relevant events

for marketing and PR purposes.

KEY REQUIREMENTS • 5 years experience in PR, preferably in a B2B environment • Excellent communication skills—written and verbal (the odd

café review might be flicked in your direction as will any speaking engagement opportunities to promote the business)

• Strong relationships with, and hands-on experience pitching stories to, both trade and consumer, award writing, tailored press kits, social media

• Excellent organisational and management skills Flexibility to travel—some travel will be required

• Desire to collaborate with, and contribute to, a passionate, proactive start-up team

QUALIFICATIONS • Tertiary qualifications in PR, Marketing, or Communications

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT • Full-time, permanent position with a 3-month probation period
