Memory Verse 1 John 1:9,
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
The Upper Room Discourse
John 13-16;
John 13:9-10, Judas’ Last Chance
Bathed - LOUO is used as the illustration of salvation,
while wash - NIPTO is used for rebound.
Sin and carnality do not mean a believer must be
saved again.
“The feet” PODAS, tell us there is no fellowship when
the believer is defiled by sin. You cannot walk with God, while having dirty
feet.
“But is completely clean”, means we are to be assured
of our eternal security, through the bathing we
received at the moment of our salvation.
Our Lord doubly emphasized this with, “and you are clean”.
"But not all of you", identifies that some in the
room are NOT saved - Judas Iscariot.
1) The others came with dirty feet but Judas came without a bath. Therefore,
this message is not pertinent to him or the
unbeliever.
2) Salvation is not a result of blessing by association.
You can not be saved because you hang out with Christians. Acts 16:31-34
It is a personal and individual decision and
responsibility to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as
your savior, for your very own salvation. No one else
can do it for you. John 3:16, 36
Jesus knew that Judas never believed, was filled
with Cosmic thinking, under demonic influence,
John 13:2, and would betray Him under demon
possession, vs. 27.

Vs. 11, Not everyone has taken a bath (LOUO) for
salvation and become clean, therefore not
everyone will receive the benefits from this type of
washing (NIPTO).
"Knew", Jesus always knew that Judas Iscariot
was and would remain an unbeliever.
“Who was betraying”, the betrayal hasn’t occurred
yet, but Jesus knows that it will.
"For this reason", knowledge is power to do
or say a right thing in a right way.
“He said, 'not all of you are clean'”, Judas never came
to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as the
Messiah. See vs 18.
The last message Judas received was the washing away of sins by our Lord.
The basis for NIPTO cleansing, is the same as
the LOUO bathing for the unbeliever's salvation, the
Cross at Calvary.
In grace, our Lord gives Judas one last chance for salvation even though He knows Judas' hard heart.
Never make up your mind about someone's faith.
Always continue to present the gospel and let God take
it from there.
