DESCRIPTION OF CHANGES OF PARKING SPACES -

STAFF PARKING :The addition of 77 spaces was due to re-designating Lot 4, Library lot, an all staff lot, as opposed to the joint staffand commuter lot it has been in years prior. This change was made in anticipation of the loss of the staff parkingin Lot 12, Humanities and Sociology lot, to construction of the Latimer STEM building.

COMMUTER PARKING:The subtraction of 176 spaces was due to 3 changes:

1) 96 spaces in Lot 1, Stadium lot, were changed from Commuter to Un-Restricted2) 3 spaces in Lot 12, Humanities and Sociology, are inside a construction zone3) 77 spaces in Lot 4, Library lot, were changed from Commuter to Staff.

NON-COMMUTER PARKING:The addition of 2 spaces was due to the creation of 2 motorcycle spaces in Lot 9, University Village Phase II lot. The area was previously unusable as a parking stall due to size regulations.

UN-RESTRICTED PARKING:The addition of 96 spaces was due to changes in the North East corner of Lot 1, Stadium lot, from Commuter to Un-Restricted. This change was made due to a request from Athletics as well as Academic programs for closer Non-Commuter parking on the North side of campus near the football stadium and classrooms in the new stadium building.

SUMMARY: Overall, the campus only lost 1 parking space in total; 2 spaces were created in Lot 9 University Village Phase II lot, and 3 spaces were lost in Lot 12, Humanities and Sociology lot. The changes made were re-designations from one category to another as a result of planning for the construction of the Latimer STEM building. During the construction, most if not all of Lot 12, Humanities and Sociology lot, will be used for construction and will beunavailable to the university community.
