Please note that the road leading to these bays has an uneven granite sett surface. The disabled parking bay located to the rear of the theatre has an uneven granite sett surface and offers limited access to the adjacent footpath. Please note that this disabled parking bay is not recommended for wheelchair users without assistance.

University Parking. There is one University car park located to the rear of the George Square Library. This car park has a level tarmac surface and a limited number of parking bays. Access Routes. There are two main access routes from George Square to the Business School.

Access Route 1. This access route is suitable for self-propelled wheelchair users and starts from the library’s disabled parking bays. There is level access to Entrance 3 from these parking bays via a ramp, a long paved footpath and an additional ramp to the side of the Business School. There are also flights of paved steps which link the lower level of George Square to the Business School. These steps incorporate contrasting nosings and handrails to both sides. The ramp leading from the disabled parking bays has two paved stages and incorporates a rest stop between each stage. The ramp has a paved surface with a shallow gradient and incorporates handrails to either side. The second ramp has a shallow paved gradient and incorporates a handrail to one side. From the top of this ramp there is good level access to Entrance 3.

Access Route 2. This access route is suitable for self-propelled wheelchair users and is the most accessible route if arriving by bus from Potterrow or Chapel Street. This access route starts from the paved footpath on the lower East side of George Square. From this footpath it is necessary to follow a temporary level paved route around the ongoing refurbishment works. This route passes the front of the David Hume Tower and leads directly to Entrance 3. Alternatively, there are generously spaced stone steps leading from the lower level of George Square to Entrance 3. These steps do not incorporate handrails but do incorporate contrasting nosings.
