Follow these guidelines, and you’ll be set for an awesome day, guaranteed. 1. Your ticket. Don’t be that douche who makes your friends drive 45 minutes home for a piece of paper. 2. Directions to the venue even if you think you know where you’re going! You don’t want to end up at a dead end 10 miles away 15 minutes before the gates open! 3. $$$ Almost every bands designs new merch specifically for Warped tour so don’t get left out! Lots of bands have been posting photos of their merch on their Facebooks or blogs so that you can get a sense of how much merch you’d like to buy. 4. Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! No one wants to go home looking like tan mom. 5. Water bottle(s) and extra caps. Security will only allow unopened (factory-sealed) water bottles inside the venue. Some venues may also remove your bottlecaps at the door (due to security reasons such as using them as projectiles) so keep some extra ones in your pocket or backpack. 6. A light backpack to carry all your stuff you bring, and merch you buy! No matter how cool a cross body bag looks, you’ll regret it when you get dragged into a pit or 12 year olds at All Time Low try to push you out of the way. 7. Snacks! If you can’t spare the $$ for the overpriced food at the venue, bring some granola bars or a PB&J sandwich to nibble on throughout the day. Just make sure it won’t melt/rot in your backpack during the day! 8. Sneakers, Vans, Converse, etc. No high heels, flats, and definitely no flip-flops! You don’t want to get trampled in the pit! 9. If you don’t have a press/photo pass, bring a small point-and-shoot or disposable camera, or use your phone camera! 10. A fully charged phone, if you wanna take pictures with it/keep in contact with your group. 11. Sharpie! If you run into a band member, it’ll be easier for them to sign something 12. An extra shirt, just in case you fall in mud or the blood on the dance floor. 13. Sunglasses! If you’re not running everywhere between sets then you’ll definitely want these for the leisurely stroll! Also, girls, wearing them in pictures with band members can easily cover up all of the steaked mascara and eyeliner and can almost guarantee a photo that is profile picture material (especially with those bands you’ve been waiting to meet since you were 12). 14. A non-moshing friend (if possible), so they can hold your stuff while you’re in the pit. Worry not. Your first day at Warped Tour can be intimidating, but we’ve got you covered. Things to Bring:

THE NEWBIE SEGMENT

A FEW KEY DETAILS CAN MAKE OR BREAK YOUR EXPERIENCELucky for you, we’ve got everything you need to know compiled here, to help you achieve maximum festival happiness. Follow these guidelines, and you’ll be set for an awesome day, guaranteed.

1. Your ticket. Don’t be that douche who makes your friends drive 45 minutes home for a piece of paper.2. Directions to the venue even if you think you know where you’re going! You don’t want to end up at a dead end 10 miles away 15 minutes before the gates open!3. $$$ Almost every bands designs new merch specifically for Warped tour so don’t get left out! Worry not. Your first

day at Warped Tour can be intimidating, but we’ve got you

covered.

Things to Bring:

[Created By The Harmonic Series © 2012]

We’ve said this before, and we’ll say it

again. DO NOT FORGET YOUR TICKET!Check before you leave your house, check

once you’re in your car, check before you get

out of your car, and check while you’re in line.

Check the weather repeatedly!Usually, Warped Tour is synonymous with

“hot, sweaty day.” That doesn’t mean you won’t

get caught in a freak thunderstorm or a

strangely cool afternoon, so dress accordingly.

Stay hydrated!Seeing your favorite band is not nearly as

fun when you’re grumpy and uncomfortable

because you haven’t been taking time out to

drink water and eat food.

Slap on that sunscreen!Check how often the bottle says to reapply,

and FOLLOW IT. Avoid spray-on sunblock;

some venues are known to confiscate it.

Wear light color and loose clothes! That black band shirt, plaid shirt, and

skinny jeans combo that looks awesome on you

isn’t worth a heat stroke!

No open toe shoes! Those flip flops will quickly become your

worst nightmare once you realize you’ll be

running around crowded fairgrounds all day.

Free stuff is everywhere!Often, restaurants like Dunkin Donuts give

out free coolatttas or you can get free food from

organizations. Also, if someone offers you a cool

free shirt for doing something like a cartwheel,

do the cartwheel! The idea is to have fun!

Drawstring bags aren’t that lame!

It is very easy to lose things, especially

in a crowd. If you don’t have one

already, Vans and some bands sell

them in the venue.

Cash or credit?DO NOT bring credit/debit cards.

Most merch tents won’t take them, and you

definitely don’t want to risk losing one. Keep in

mind that festival food is super expensive, so

factor that into the amount of money you plan to

bring along. Don’t buy too much merch, you

have to carry it all day!

Scope out nearby restaurants! You can easily grab a bite before or after

Warped. Speaking of which, bring snacks!

Factory packaged food works great. If the venue

isn’t letting people bring food in, hide it under

your shirt.

Venues ban random stuff!iPods, recording devices, anything

resembling a chain, etc. are all things that

should stay home.

No DSLR for you!You can only bring in your fancy camera if

you have a photo pass. Even if you have a

Super Limited Edition Ashton Kutcher Approved

Nikon and manage to sneak it in, it WILL BE

BROKEN by the end of the day. Ashton wouldn’t

approve.

Lists, lists, lists!Find the signs with all the set times and

locations. Merch booths usually say signing

times. Write it ALL down or risk missing your

favorite bands. All these times change EVERY

DAY. Just because a band played in the

afternoon the past three dates doesn’t mean

they won’t play first at yours!

Twitter! Most bands update their twitters with these

timings too, so if you can, subscribe to get their

tweets on your phone and stay in the loop!

Meeting places! If you go with friends, arrange meeting

spots and times so that no one gets lost!

Reverse Day Care!If your parents are insistent on coming with

you, drop them off in the air conditioned parent

tent. This way you can avoid having your mother

tell that one cute guitarist about how you have 5

posters of him on your wall or how she caught

you singing his band's new single into a

hairbrush in front of a mirror.

The pit!If you can’t handle it, get out. And don’t

drop crowd surfers!

STAY CALM.We understand that you’ve had the biggest

crush on Alex Gaskarth since Put Up or Shut

Up. But he is just a person. Don’t pee yourself.

Be cool, be collected, and talk to him like a

friend. Let him know how much his music

means to you, but do so in a sane manner.

Be 1-2 hours early to EVERYTHING!

GENERAL INFORMATIONAnd now onto everything we wish we’d known before our first Warped experience.

Thanks for reading!Hopefully, these tips will get you

through the day. You’ll have a

blast. Happy Warped Tour!

Special Thanks To:One of our photographers, Pauline Nguyen,
