THE TRAINING OF THE WILL TO DO.

The great secret of any accomplishment. Everything Is possible today. Theinner energy that controls all conscious acts. How you can become a genius. A

mighty force at your disposal. Rules that will make you a "man" among men.The spirit that wins. oncentration develops determination and perseverance.

!ome special instructions. hat will power is. #ou have as strong a will asanyone. #ou determine your own fate. The importance of learning to use your

    will.

The Will To Do is the greatest power in the world that is concerned with humanaccomplishment and no one can in advance determine its limits.

The things that we do now would have been a few ages ago impossibilities. Today thesafe maxim is: "All things are possible."

The Will To Do is a force that is strictly practical, yet it is difficult to explain ust whatit is. !t can be compared to electricity because we now it only through its cause andeffects. !t is a power we can direct and to ust the extent we direct it do we determineour future. #very time you accomplish any definite act, consciously or unconsciously, you use the principle of the Will. $ou can Will to do anything whether it is right orwrong, and therefore the way you use your will maes a big difference in your life.

#very person possesses some "Will To Do." !t is the inner energy which controls allconscious acts. What you will to do directs your life forces. All habits, good or bad,are the result of what you will to do. $ou improve or lower your condition in life bywhat you will to do. $our will has a connection with all avenues of nowledge, allactivities, all accomplishment.

$ou probably now of cases where people have shown wonderful strength undersome excitement, similar to the following: The house of a farmer%s wife caught on fire.&o one was around to help her move anything. 'he was a frail woman, and ordinarilywas considered wea. (n this occasion she removed things from the house that itlater too three men to handle. !t was the "Will To Do" that she used to accomplish hertas.

)enius !s *ut A Will To Do +ittle Things With !nfinite ains. +ittle Things Well Done(pen The Door (f (pportunity -or *igger Things.

The Will accomplishes its greater results through activities that grow out of greatconcentration in acuiring the power of voluntary attention to such an extent that wecan direct it where we will and hold it steadily to its tas until our aim is

accomplished. When you learn so to use it, your Will ower becomes a mighty force.Almost everything can be accomplished through its proper use. !t is greater thanphysical force because it can be used to control not only physical but mental andmoral forces.

There are very few that possess perfectly developed and balanced Will ower, butthose who do easily crush out their wea ualities. 'tudy yourself carefully. -ind outyour greatest weaness and then use your will power to overcome it. !n this wayeradicate your faults, one by one, until you have built up a strong character andpersonality.

/ules for !mprovement. A desire arises. &ow thin whether this would be good foryou. !f it is not, use your Will ower to ill out the desire, but, on the other hand, if it is

a righteous desire, summon all your Will ower to your aid, crush all obstacles thatconfront you and secure possession of the coveted )ood.

'lowness in 0aing Decisions. This is a weaness of Will ower. $ou now youshould do something, but you delay doing it through lac of decision. !t is easier notto do a certain thing than to do it, but conscience says to do it. The vast maority ofpersons are failures because of the lac of deciding to do a thing when it should bedone. Those that are successful have been uic to grasp opportunities by maing auic decision. This power of will can be used to bring culture, wealth and health.

'ome 'pecial ointers. -or the next wee try to mae uicer decisions in your littledaily affairs. 'et the hour you wish to get up and arise exactly at the fixed time.Anything that you should accomplish, do on or ahead of time. $ou want, of course, togive due deliberation to weighty matters, but by maing uic decisions on littlethings you will acuire the ability to mae uic decisions in bigger things. &everprocrastinate. Decide uicly one way or the other even at the ris of deciding wrong.ractice this for a wee or two and notice your improvement.

The +ac of !nitiative. This, too, eeps many men from succeeding. They have falleninto the way of imitating others in all that they do. 1ery often we hear the expression,"2e seems clever enough, but he lacs initiative." +ife for them is one continuousgrind. Day after day they go through the same monotonous round of duties, whilethose that are "getting along" are using their initiative to get greater fullness of life. There is nothing so responsible for poverty as this lac of initiative, this power tothin and do for ourselves.

$ou Are as )ood as Anyone. $ou have will power, and if you use it, you will get yourshare of the luxuries of life. 'o use it to claim your own. Don%t depend on anyone elseto help you. We have to fight our own battles. All the world loves a fighter, while thecoward is despised by all.

#very person%s problems are different, so ! can only say "analy3e your opportunitiesand conditions and study your natural abilities." -orm plans for improvement andthen put them into operation. &ow, as ! said before, don%t ust say, "! am going to do

so and so," but carry your plan into execution. Don%t mae an indefinite plan, but adefinite one, and then don%t give up until your obect has been accomplished. utthese suggestions into practice with true earnestness, and you will soon noteastonishing results, and your whole life will be completely changed. An excellentmotto for one of pure motives is: Through my will power ! dare do what ! want to. $ouwill find this affirmation has a very strengthening effect.

The 'pirit of erseverance. The spirit of "stictoitiveness" is the one that wins. 0anygo ust so far and then give up, whereas, if they had persevered a little longer, theywould have won out. 0any have much initiative, but instead of concentrating it intoone channel, they diffuse it through several, thereby dissipating it to such an extentthat its effect is lost.

Develop more determination, which is only the Will To Do, and when you start out todo something stic to it until you get results. (f course, before starting anything youmust loo ahead and see what the "finish leads to." $ou must select a road that willlead to "somewhere," rather than "nowhere." The ourney must be productive of someind of substantial results. The trouble with so many young men is that they launchenterprises without any end in sight. !t is not so much the start as the finish of aourney that counts. #ach little move should bring you nearer the goal which youplanned to reach before the enterprise began.

+ac of erseverance is nothing but the lac of the Will To Do. !t taes the sameenergy to say, "! will continue," as to say, "! give up." 4ust the moment you say thelatter you shut off your dynamo, and your determination is gone. #very time you allowyour determination to be broen you weaen it. Don%t forget this. 4ust the instant you

notice your determination beginning to weaen, concentrate on it and by sheer Willower mae it continue on the "ob."

&ever try to mae a decision when you are not in a calm state of mind. !f in a "uictemper," you are liely to say things you afterwards regret. !n anger, you followimpulse rather than reason. &o one can expect to achieve success if he maesdecisions when not in full control of his mental forces.

Therefore mae it a fixed rule to mae decisions only when at your best. !f you have a

"uic temper," you can uicly gain control over it by simple rule of countingbacwards. To count bacwards reuires concentration, and you thus uicly regaina calm state. !n this way you can brea the "temper habit."

!t will do you a lot of good to thin over what you said and thought the last time youwere angry. ersevere until you see yourself as others see you. !t would do no harmto write the scene out in story form and then sit in udgment of the character thatplayed your part.

'pecial !nstructions to Develop the Will To Do. This is a form of mental energy, but

reuires the proper mental attitude to mae it manifest. We hear of people having

wonderful will power, which really is wrong. !t should be said that they use their will

power while with many it is a latent force. ! want you to reali3e that no one has a

monopoly on will power. There is plenty for all. What we spea of as will power is but

the gathering together of mental energy, the concentration power at one point. 'o

never thin of that person as having a stronger will than yours. #ach person will be

supplied with ust that amount of will power that he demands. $ou don%t have to

develop will power if you constantly mae use of all you have, and remember the way

in which you use it determines your fate, for your life is moulded to great extent by

the use you mae of your will. 5nless you mae proper use of it you have neither

independence nor firmness. $ou are unable to control yourself and become a mere

machine for others to use. !t is more important to learn to use your will than to

develop your intellect. The man that has not learned how to use his will rarely decides

things for himself, but allows his resolutions to be changed by others. 2e fluctuatesfrom one opinion to another, and of course does not accomplish anything out of the

ordinary, while his brother with the trained will taes his place among the world%s

    leaders.
