Satin Dolls DancersJoin us to watch the Satin Dolls tap dance performance at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, in the Club Room.

They can provide some inspiration for the TowerLight Talent Show acts that will take place later that afternoon!Since the early 1980s, the Satin Dolls Senior Tap Dance Group has been a popular fixture in St. Louis Park.

Members, who must be 55 years of age or older, come from all over, including St. Louis Park, Plymouth, Minnetonka, Wayzata, Mound, Rogers, Otsego and Minneapolis. The group is quite committed and practices for 90 minutes weekly at the Lenox Community Center. They have a repertoire of eight dances, and the shows involve six or seven costume changes. Each member has her own costumes. It’s a fantastic 45-minute program!

You knew it was coming — the TowerLight Talent Show will be taking place on Wednesday, July 24, at 3:30 p.m. If you wish to participate, please complete a form (available at the front desk) or just e-mail Maggie with:

Your Name(s), title of your act and any equipment needs (including if you need accompaniment.) Invite your friends and family to come take part and/or watch!

Acceptable acts include: reading a poem, doing a dance, playing an instrument, singing (solo, duet, trio, etc.), putting on a skit, balloon art, body tricks, magic tricks, telling jokes/stand-up comedy...you get the idea!

Need a piano accompanist? You’re in luck, because I’d love to accompany you!

Minneapolis Pops Concerts!The TowerLight bus will be attending three Minneapolis

Pops concerts!The mission of the Minneapolis Pops Orchestra is to bring

the power and pleasure of live orchestra concerts, performed by professional musicians, to the Twin Cites community, free of charge. This year marks the 70th year the orchestra will be performing at Nicollet Island pavilion for seniors, free of charge! We’ll be attending concerts on July 9, July 15 and July 23. The performances are typically an hour and a half (10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.) and the bus returns around 12:15 p.m. If you wish to attend, be sure to sign up in the outing book!

Garage Sale: Save the Date and Save Your Things!

TowerLight will be hosting a garage sale on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 23 and 24! If you are looking for a place to get rid of your things without making the trip to Good Will, please bring it to Maggie and Angela! If possible, we’d love things sorted (e.g. separate kitchenware, clothing, books, etc.)

All money earned in the garage sale will go towards our intergenerational programs and activities. Any items not sold will be brought to the local Good Will on Monday, Aug. 26.

Centennial Lakes Farmer’s Market!

We will be taking the bus to the Farmer’s Market on Thursday, July 11. The bus will depart at 2:45 p.m., and we will return to TowerLight around 5 p.m.
