Charles Percival Hart started C.P. Hart in south London in 1937. From the earliest days, assisted by his sons John and Tom, the business was built on specifying and sourcing the world’s most innovative and durable bathroom products – often commissioning exceptional product designers, always from the highest quality manufacturers.

That ethos continues today and extends to our bathroom wall and floor tile collections.

However, choosing your tiles can be a bewildering experience, such as the variability of styles, quality and sizes.

Our own collections are sourced and recommended by C.P. Hart based on over 80 years of luxury bathroom expertise. All our tiles are manufactured from hand-picked

plants in Italy and Spain. Most of our own ranges are supplied from stock, carefully stored at our UK warehouses.

Each of our collections is fully vitrified to create a hard, stain resistant surface. Tiles are manufactured and fired in different batches and there are often colour variations between batches.

The true quality of a tile is impossible to show in a brochure or website. Only by seeing and touching one can you appreciate its colour, texture, reflective quality and feel. Visit any C.P. Hart showroom to do so – there you will also be able to request stock samples to take home for matching to your furniture or room schemes. We advise our clients to request samples rather than relying on imagery.

V RATING Colour and shade variation. All hand-made tiles exhibit natural variations from tile to tile. Some show greater differences in colour and shade than others, and this is indicated by a higher V value.

DESIGN, SUPPLY, INSTALLIf you are planning to renovate your bathroom, our Professional Design Service would be an excellent place to start.

Installation The finest bathrooms are always distinguished by an exceptional fit and finish.

Planning and installing a new bathroom is one of the most challenging home development projects. Bathrooms have become more sophisticated, so installation requires more highly skilled and specialised practitioners. Knowledge, experience and attention to detail are vital.

A recommendation from friends, family, an architect or interior designer, can be helpful. Even with a recommendation, we advise that our clients see an example of the installer’s work before making a decision.

At C.P. Hart, our aim is to create exceptional bathrooms for our clients. We do not install bathrooms, but we do want the products we supply to look perfect and work faultlessly. To meet such quality standards, we have developed our Approved Installer Service to introduce our clients to a select group of installation experts, each one vetted by C.P. Hart and accredited by manufacturers.

Our Approved Installer Service removes the uncertainty from the process of choosing an installer. All our carefully selected professionals undergo background checks and must meet our high standards of care, service and conduct. They also receive training on our new and complex products. We are told that C.P. Hart’s is the most comprehensive approval scheme in the industry.

Beyond its practical function of sealing the tiles and protecting the tile edges, the choice of grout greatly influences the overall aesthetic. Matching grout to the tile colour can provide a neutral base for the beauty of the tile. Choosing a contrasting colour can emphasise the pattern of the tiles.

C.P. Hart recommends and supplies a high-quality grout from Mapei. It is available in more than 40 colours. In the grout matching chart, we suggest a suitable colour for each of our tiles.

Our grout colour suggestion will depend on the styling of your bathroom. Please ask a sales consultant for further advice.
