THE THREE WISE MEN

THE HISTORY

• The nativity of the three wise men is an old tradition from de Christian countries. It’s a very beautiful tradition and all the childs belive in it.

• The three men are called The Three Wise Men, The Three Kings Or Kings From the East.

• Those men were Zoroastrian priests, they were from Ancient Persia.

• The Gospel of Matthew states that they came “from the east of Jerusalem” to worship the Christ. “ born King of the Jews”

• According to Matthew, they navigated by following a star which came to be known as the Star of Bethlehem.

The adoration

• Upon fiding Jesus, the Three Wise Men gave him an unspesified number of gifts, amongst which were three highly symbolic ones: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

In the easter church a variety of different names are given forthe three kings, but in thewest the names have been settled since the 8th century as :

Caspar

Melchior Balthasar

King Melchior • King Melchior is of clear

skin, because he comes from a country where people had the skin of this color. He is the youngest of the three kings but he has the oldest aspect, with the totally white beard and hair, since according to a legend the boy Jesus punished it to make unnecessary sample of his force and youth.

King Caspar

• King Caspar is of clear skin and has the brown hair, because he comes from a country where people are this. As Melchior goes dress according to the gothic style.

King Balthasar

• King Balthasar is of black skin and goes dress according to the style of the Arabs, because he comes from a country where people are this.
